Don't you love Strawberry Rhubarb Pie?  This year my back yard rhubarb hasn't been very impressive so I have been buying it at the market.  This pie recipe is really delicious so you might like to try it!  The strawberries are so perfect now and if you have to bring a dessert somewhere - well, it doesn't get better than this!

The reason for the PS on the pie was that this was originally a Pink Saturday post!

I have a whole file of recipes of wonderful
 rhubarb ideas and this is an terrific:

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees and you will need pie pastry for a double crust unbaked 9" pie. Baking time is 10 minutes at 450 degrees and then 30 minutes at 375 degrees This will Serve 6-8

You need 2 cups diced fresh rhubarb and 3 cups of whole strawberries, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, 3 Tb unsalted sweet butter cut into bits, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg and confectioners sugar to sprinkle on top while the pie is warm

Mix together all but last ingredient and put into unbaked pie shell - finish the top with other dough to cover and cut out a design of your choice!

Bake as directed above or until filling bubbles out....sprinkle with confectioners sugar...

The rhubarb pie looks delicious, love rhubarb pie with some vanilla sauce (custard) on top, yum!!

YUM!!! I wish I had some right now. We used to have a Rhubarb plant in our garden when we lived in Iowa....alas.....we don't here in Louisiana. So we miss them. Haven't had Rhubarb anything in a million years.

That pie looks so yummy. Too bad rhubarb doesn't grow around here, but I could try it with frozen rhubarb. The chintz china is lovely and I've always liked ivy on white dishes too. Nice photos.
