I've done it - yes, I finished another Tea Shop Mystery!  "Shades of Earl Grey" by Laura Childs. This is #3 in the series- I recommend you read them in order.  Remember, I started with the last one and then went back to the beginnning!

This summer I have been reading Laura Child's Tea Shop Mysteries about Theodosia Browning who owns a tea shop in Charleston, South Carolina.......fiction of course.....

I find it comforting that so far Theodosia doesn't have to experience a RECESSION in her tea room.  As a gift shop retailer, I can tell you we are in one!   Isn't "make believe" so much more fun!   I love the employees that Theodosia has - talk about over the top committment and dedication!  And lastly, her dog - Earl Grey - you know,  my yard looks lovely now but I have to admit I've missed my dog hearing about Earl Grey!

Today is Tea Time Tuesday with Sandi from Prince Edward Island!
Can you imagine living there? I think I'll just take the summer off and go to Prince Edward Island! (not serious here)

Tea Quote

"Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice very earnestly. "I've had nothing yet," Alice replied in an offended tone: "so I can't take more."  "You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter: "it's very easy to take more than nothing."

Psalm 32:
1: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

5a:  I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord."
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.

A NEW TEA BOOK FOR TEA TIME TUESDAY! Victoria's "The Essential Tea Companion"

Today for Tea Time Tuesday, I am featuring a relatively new (2009) Victoria book and a delicious Lemon Tea Bread baked from a recipe in the book.....of course I  gathered mix and match tea items to put with my "Friendship Teapot".

Who doesn't need another tea book full of favorite menus for tea parties and celebrations!  There are chapters on a wide range of topics and resources in the back of the book. Tea Party menus for children and special occasions make up one chapter and also instructions on collecting teasets, etc.

Last night I baked the Lemon Tea Bread on page 139 and the house smelled so lovely.  Don't you love it when you look at a recipe and see that you already have the ingredients with out having to go to the market!

There are so many wonderful recipes and photos in this book - many gleaned from past Victoria Magazines of old!

The chapters cover many aspects of tea and you would definitely consider this a well rounded tea book!  Price is $19.95

Be sure and join others who participate in Tea Time Tuesday with Sandy at http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com/

Her blog is called Rose Chintz Cottage & Inspirations!

Bernideen's sells the tea book for $19.95.

Everyone in the Beatrix Potter Tea Garden screamed with delight this morning....Jemima Puddle is finally here and she brought with her 4 little ducklings.....

One of the ducklings was very shy......
Miss Tabitha and Mr. Jeremy Fisher were so pleased at Jemima's arrival with her ducklings!

Our summer weather has only arrived last week...so perhaps the garden will finally burst into bloom with joy!

Wednesday night I finished reading "Gunpowder Green" and Thursday I started reading another Tea Shop Mystery, "Shades of Earl Grey"!  This means I have read 3 because I started with her last Tea Shop Mystery and then went back to the first!

In "Gunpowder Green"  I was very entertained when Theodosia received a threat that another tea room might be opening right in the historic district - right near her precious Indigo Tea Room.  IT BROUGHT BACK memories....years ago when I had a gift shop  in Spring, Texas I remember a gal stood in front of my counter and told me she was opening a store nearby and it would be exactly like mine....well, of course, her's would be bigger and better she implied!  I remember the shock of it all. Another time I went flying out the front door late at night going to empty the  trash and found my "competition" standing on the front porch looking in the window.   Other times I found another merchant going through the dumpster to read the company labels on our boxes. I don't want to bore you with more of this.......

of course my photo of the "fake" gun here isn't historically accurate to Laura Child's book but I just wanted some extra fluff for my photos......you will love the tea information in these books!
