Today is Teacup Thursday with Miss Spenser!  She and her mother, Donna Hardin run Miss Spenser's Tea Room in New Virginia, here to visit them!

I have a collection of mix and match tea wares and these cups and saucers are part of an assortment:  two are Bavarian and two from Germany! I really am more of a mix and match person.  I find it easy to work within certain color choices and blend things together.  I also prefer the variety and more casual appeal.

I just saw a sugar bowl in the above design in one of my books or magazines but can't remember where I saw it!

These with the blue bands are from Germany and the ones with the black cameo design are from Bavaria...

Every antique mall around has pieces of formerly loved china and you might consider embracing them!  I am even open to mixing different cups with different saucers!  How about you?

Dear Bernideen,
one need a lot of nice cups to find those together which are matching at least a bit. You have such an good eye for combining the right things. Although you mix and match it looks always as if it made just for using it that way. I am always a bit afraid to mix because I have not such a choice of different styles. That is one real good thing I learned from the american ladies (and gents) how to mix different patterns in flatware, glass or dishes.
Greetings, Johanna

I love your mix/match china...they go together so well that you'd think it was meant to be that way! I am very much like you too...I enjoying mixing and matching...somehow I do a better job with china patterns than I do with my wardrobe! ha... Donna

Your teawares are all lovely. I really like your pretty cups and saucers and they look great together. I like the look of combining pieces that don't match, but do compliment each other.
