This sounds delicious because it IS delicious.  Key Lime Pound Cake is wonderful!

I am passionate about foods that reflect the season I am in - Spring - Summer - Fall - Winter and this is definitely a winner for summer.  I have gotten quite a few recipes for key lime pound cakes and found this recipe at Allrecipes.com and then I changed it up just a tweak.

Today I am participating in:
I hope you can visit these delightful blogs too!

 Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and grease with butter and dust your cake pan with flour.

Here is what you will need to make this cake: A 10" tube (or bundt pan|), 1 cup butter, 1 cup shortening (I used a little less), 2 cups white sugar, 5 eggs, 3 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup milk, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of key lime juice (I used almost a cup)

And for the glaze: I used 1 cup powdered sugar, 5 Tb Lime Juice and zest of 3 limes....I heated this on low stirring to get the lumps out!

FOR THE CAKE BODY:  In a large bowl, beat 1 cup of butter, shortening and 2 cups of sugar til fluffy and beat in the eggs.  Combine the flour and baking powder in another bowl and stir into the batter with the milk, vanilla and key lime juice.  Pour into prepared pan and smooth top evenly.

Bake for 1 hour and 20 -30 minutes. Cool slightly before inverting on plate.  While the cake is baking - make the glaze and then pour over cake.

Dear Bernideen,
When I noticed you had linked up, I skipped a few ladies to come and visit you. I am so glad you were able to join me for Tea Time this week! I've been wondering how you were faring with those terrible fires! {I was ill on the weekend and so was not at the computer very much at all.}
My hubby and I have watched the news reports and have prayed for you and your neighbors. God bless you all!
I do love your pretty teapot and your key lime cake looks amazing! Thank you for joining me for tea and do take care, my friend.

Hello Bernideen
When we were in Florida in February, I had key lime pie every time we ate out. Now, a key lime pound cake! Yummy!
Nice to visit with you for tea this week and I'm glad you didn't have the smoke damage I imagined you might.
