NO LONGER "MAD" ABOUT MY MADHATTER TEAPOT

About 4 years ago I was doing a post for this blog and accidentally dropped my Alice In Wonderland English Teapot.  The right side edge where it was scalloped was chipped off.  I did something that I know I shouldn't do.  I moved the teapot on a warmer on a tray without lifting it off first.   Crash!  It sat down in the basement until recently when it was called to my attention that the "Doll Doctor" Marilyn could fix it since she was a porcelain artist.  I am so excited to share my repaired teapot today for "Friends Sharing Tea".

As you can see you hardly would know it had a big piece missing all along the upper right rim of the teapot.  I thought she did a wonderful job.  Please pour yourself some tea and enjoy one of the cinnamon rolls.

I am also letting you know that I hope to begin "Tea In The Garden" by next week.  This week it is finally warm here in Colorado Springs.   We set a new record for rainfall in Colorado as it rained at least 25+ days.  That meant there is lots of snow on top of Pikes Peak.  I hope by next week the garden will bloom for our blog party.

I am also sharing a wonderful book (now produced by Benjamin Press).  This is an older copy so expect a different looking cover on a new one.  There are lots of tea party ideas for children in this book by Dawn Hylton Gottlier and Diane Sedo.

  3. Hello Bernideen,
Happy June! I'm sure your garden will be in bloom by next week. It's been quite cool here lately and I can't wait for the warm weather to return. Marilyn did a fabulous job mending your teapot! One would never know it had taken a tumble. Those cinnamon buns look wonderful and all those little figurines look so cute standing in the teacups. A charming tea table as always! Thank you for joining me for tea and enjoy your lovely weather.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  12. I thought of you today Bernideen when I was in the Royal Doulton store and saw a good sized bunny mug. I've looked very closely at your repaired teapot and cannot see anything - how lucky to have it whole again.
Happy Tea Day and thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

  13. I love your Alice in Wonderland teapot and dishes. You were lucky you had Marilyn, as I a friend of hubby's who is so good at mending porcelain, because I just recently had a little accident and broke the feet of my Meissen 1900's two tier server and hubby would have killed me, we kept it a secret, lol!
Thanks for the lovely party dear Bernideen.

  19. Bernideen, so glad you could get your teapot repaired so beautifully! It would have been a sad loss, I'm sure. Glad, too, your weather is warming up. I'll be getting the back garden shaped up next week in preparation for the season's first tea party in the gazebo. I'm going to use today's recipe link, cutting the chicken and everything finer and putting it in either puff pastry cups or little cream puffs.
