FIRE IT UP!

As I mentioned yesterday - we had a blizzard Monday night.  The wind howled with shears all night long.
Burr.......  this is what we do when it's cold outside.

I have to tell you almost all the homes we looked at in
 Missouri had gas fireplaces.
I think I am really going to miss this when we move!

  1. That is the coziest of ways to spend time when a blizzard howls outside. Must go back and catch up around here...

  2. Goodmorning Bernideen, Our home has a gas fireplace and I have to admit that I really miss the warm glow of a real fire. When I miss it too much, I go over to our daughters house and enjoy hers....hugs...

  3. Hi Bernideen,
At my house we have the real deal, no electric fireplace here! Yours is quite lovely. Now I see you clock, it is like mine! Looks like we like the same things, the cruet set, Stafforshire dogs!! Love it all!

  5. I love the warmth of a wood fire. We have a wood pellet stove but the heat is pretty much the same as a wood burning fireplace. We get a real fire with it. Yours looks very cozy. Ejoy!

  6. I know- there is nothing like a REAL fire when the wind is howling outside. Even a gas fireplace will work though...still can't believe you are moving...xo Diana

  9. Oh, what a lovely fire! It has not been cold enough for one here, yet, but I'll be enjoying my gas logs before long. So cozy and warm. Stay safe in the winter weather.

  10. Oh my gosh Bernideen! So excited to hear that you are moving here. I think I know someone who lives on Rainbow Trout, now I need to just figure out who it is! Do you follow Curtains in My Tree blog? She lives here in Columbia too, we'll have to have a blogger teaparty and get together when you get here!

  11. When we lived in Ohio, we had two wood burning stoves, Bernideen, and had one in Michigan. Here in Texas, it's gas logs!
Your mantle and cozy fire are so inviting, but you'll enjoy being near family in Missouri. Happy weekend to you!

  12. Oh I can't wait to meet you after you get here and settled in.

Gina knows lots of antique shops that has her Victorian style, I like to dig in the junky shops LOL lots of good shops around here have closed

Blackwater Missouri is a sweet little town and I know Mary Watson ! she had a fabulous shop here in Columbia for years.

Hope your new house has a fireplace to keep you cozy on a cold Missouri night , farmers almanac says mild winter here this year

see you after your get moved in and ready to shop around

  13. Just convert the fireplace to wood burning if possible. I am not a big fan of gas burning ones either, although they are popular in south Texas. There is nothing like burning logs. I actually envy your cold weather. It's still in the 70's here and it's humid again today so it feels hotter. I am so anxious to have the first fire of the season in our fireplace. Have a great weekend!

    Big Texas Hugs,
