Today we got a look at what it would be
like to live in a small town in Missouri.
 We attended "Christmas in Boonville".

Our first place to stop was a tour of
Rosalyn Heights, a 1895 Victorian Mansion
owned by the Daughters of the American Revolution
on Main Street in Boonville.

We enjoyed a lovely soup luncheon with muffins
and homemade cookies down in the basement kitchen.

Next, my husband went to a Model Train Open House
and I took some photos there and of the parade outside:

As we were leaving we passed a street
 where a lovely church
featured a living nativity:

And up close and personal:

It all looks so charming and I love the living nativity, My 13 year old grandson said this is his favorite thing about Christmas is the living Nativity at his church Concord Baptist in Jefferson City Missouri.
So glad to see all the train displays for your husband

What a fun little town to visit, Bernideen. There is just nothing like a small town for that home-town homey feeling. My brother also loved trains and everything connected to them. xo Diana

love all your small towns in Missouri. I flew through on I44 on Friday. Wish I could've made some stops, but only got off the road at Rollo to have Lee's Famous Chicken for lunch. I have made a binder with all the towns you've featured and plan to do a road trip up and down next Spring when I'm not traveling alone like this time.

Sounds like a wonderful day Bernideen. Love these small towns with the lovely old traditions. We have friends who participate in a living Nativity. They love it, but they say it sure gets cold at night here in Michigan! xo Deborah
