What a job that was putting all those
Christmas treasures away. I so
understand why - are you ready for
this - "old people" just get out a tiny
tree or nothing at all.
Right before Christmas my
husband went to the market to grab
a few things and a man pulled out and totaled our car. He said the driver was
an old guy so I asked "how old was he?"
Oh....about our age was the answer!
Haha! Thankfully, my husband
wasn't injured.
I did my first table setting for the New
Year today and am sharing a tablecloth
I made with some purple toile fabric.
Many upholstery type fabrics are wider
and can make great tablecloths.
sometimes called "House Party"
or "Litchfield House Party".
Laura Ashley marketed it too.

I found this machine sewn vintage
quilt on Ebay which had perfect
colors for our "snug" area in our
home. It is on the pony rail by

and staying safe!
I do hope your husband was okay from the car accident. I am sorry to hear your vehicle was totaled. And it being right before Christmas...what an upsetting thing to happen. I enjoyed seeing your first tablescape and the lovely tablecloth you have sewn. Pretty material and pretty dish settings. Two of my most favorite things are "tea and quilts". Your new quilt has the perfect spot to shine.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that beautiful tea cozy. You could do a fantastic tablescape using it as the focal point! Your toile tablecloth is very pretty. I hope you are keeping warm, we are really cold here in Georgia. Looking forward to some winter precipitation, but might be more ice than snow. But we are well prepared. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, are we having goose for dinner, lol. Such bad news about the car, but I hope the hubby did not sustain any serious injury. Not nice to have to car shop at Christmas time and in bad weather either. Our new 5 foot prelit tree is down this week. You have such beautiful tree decorations, to give up the tree that size would be disappointing for you. And I enjoy looking!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad but drivers are in more of a hurry during the holidays. So glad your husband wasn't injured.
ReplyDeleteI undecorated our tree on Monday and changed out the holiday decor from Christmas to Winter. Thankfully we don't have as many decorations as in the past.
Last year I started to hang crocheted throws on our pony rail after seeing yours. Thank you for the great idea.
The tablecloth is so beautiful. It's always a pleasure to see your lovely table settings.
Wishing you God's best this year.
Aww, so sorry about your vehicle, the same happened to my daughter's car just before New Year's, fortunately not totalled, but will take quite some repairing.
ReplyDeleteYour table settings are always so beautiful, I know how much work goes into making them just perfect !
I've just packed up the last of the Christmas decorations, next year I might just decorate the tree and let it go at that, my age is catching up with me 😊
Wishing you and yours a Happy and Healthy New Year, dear friend
Jo
That’s so sad about your car being totaled, but what a blessing that your hubby was not injured.
ReplyDeleteYour toile tablecloth is just beautiful and so is the tablescape.
Happy Healthy New Year to you, dear friend.
