At the Thanksgiving table someone asked me if I plan
to put up a tree this year. Often, when people get older
they "drop out of the decorating phase" in life and I do
understand. As long as I am able, I do plan to keep finding
joy in holiday and seasonal decorations.
I took an existing tablecloth and cut a strip off the
longer sides. Then I added a deeper ruffle in a different
toile fabric. I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Clough who illustrated so many of Emelie Barnes

a long time back too. I love this older Anne
of Green Gables fabric. I rarely can find this
fabric from the 90's.
Mine are all from years ago including this
sweet Nativity:

All so beautiful. Looks of work but oh so worth it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas table setting, I love your red and white dishes, so very festive and fitting for the occasion. Your collections are always spectacular.

Always a joy to see your decorating. Thank you for sharing. The table cloth was a good crafting project and goes so well with your China setting. My small tree is up and a few things Christmasy about. The season is special. We ended up with 6 inches of the white stuff.
ReplyDeleteOh! Your tablecloth turned out so beautiful, I love it. Your decorations and tables are always amazing, thanks for sharing…best, Virginia
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful Christmas decorations. I love the little white tree with the pretty ornaments. I find it sad that some of my friends quit decorating when their kids grew up and move out. I will always decorate as long as I'm able.
ReplyDeleteThe ruffle is a lovely addition to your tablecloth and matches your table settings beautifully. Very nice! The tea cozies are so pretty and I especially like the Anne of Green Gables fabric. I've never seen it before. We plan to decorate next week. Your decorations are always so well put together.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and charming! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYou have the nicest collection of red transferware! I have a little and I used it this year, but it doesn't fill the hutch out. Everything is beautiful Bernideen and your tablecloth is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove your holiday decor and that ruffled tablecloth and coordinating dishes are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right to be pleased with the way your 'new' tablecloth turned out, it's truly wonderful and perfectly in theme with your dishes and the palette of your stunning dining room, to come and visit you here is like having a jump back in time, I so love your blog and everything, just everything you post, my Dearest Lady, blessed be!
ReplyDeleteEverything is so perfect, the Christmas Tree is breathtaking, the centerpiece you've chosen speaks to my heart, and I adore the Christmas tea cosy made of Anne of Green Gables fabric.
I thank you for the joy you make me feel.
