WE'VE GOT MAIL....AND HOLLYHOCKS

There are still some delightful days to be appreciated and enjoyed before the July
heat arrives.

We are loving our Hollyhocks.  You will
notice I carefully eliminated the white
Hollyhock seeds so as not to replant them.
I wanted brighter colors.

And boy have we ever had the rain.
May was the 10th highest rainfall
May on record.

I hope your summer is very
lovely!

  1. Oh my goodness Bernideen, your hollyhocks are so gorgeous!! They sure make an old fashioned cottage charm statement. I have never grown them, but they sure are beautiful.

  2. I like the brighter colors too. White always seems to disappear in the sunlight. These are just glorious. All the rain in May probably helped keep things growing and getting lush. Wet up here too. But the current storms are staying south of our part of Ohio. Beautiful garden, thank you for sharing.

  3. My aunt used to grow holly hocks. I remember when I was a small child (maybe 5) seeing a bee go inside one of the blossoms so I took my little fingers and closed that bee up in that flower. He got pretty mad... backed up and stung the heck out of me. Last time I did that.

  5. Your hollyhocks are lovely! Mine are really short this year. I have no idea why.
