It was still raining 30 minutes before my Garden Tea Party on Sunday...it had rained during the week and I was hoping the 20% chance of rain would go away but it didn't! Thankfully it stopped just long enough to have my tea party and all the ladies pitched in to help! Since I was waiting to set the tables all the ladies that arrived early helped me set up!
A sign on the driveway pointed the ladies to go around to the back yard!
Each lady was welcomed to the tea.....
A recipe booklet was given sharing the recipes I used! Some little favors awaited the ladies at each place card! Some of the ladies were acquainted....some were not!
I had asked Ruth Douglas to tell us about the Family Support Initiative in Uganda....
There were two purposes for this Garden Tea Party...one was fellowship and a chance to relax and be refreshed. The other purpose was to support The Family Support Initiative which supports an orphanage and school in UGANDA. Late note: The ladies donated $500.00 which was wonderful!
We used 12 teapots, 24 cups and saucers, 24 dessert plates and 12 3 tiered Afternoon Tea Trays.
Here is what we ate: Scones: I used the Lemon Cream Cheese Recipe on this blog under Recipes for Afternoon Tea but I left out the lemon zest and juice because one of the ladies is allergic to lemon. We had lemon curd and real English Clotted Cream for the scones! Then we had Ham Biscuits with Hot Pepper Peach Preserves, Chicken Salad Tarts and Pinwheels. Sweets: Cream Puffs,
strawberries and peppermint brownies.
