This year I decided to keep things simple and really inexpensive.....by using local fresh greenery, pine cones and found items! I have an old sled I pulled out from the garage, old ice skates and did some simple floral work....
Out in the greenbelt behind my house I had noticed some different evergreens and trimmed some branches off the bottoms being careful to not do any "ugly" trimming.
Store bought greenery wreaths are expensive - but inexpensive to make. You need wire and I recommend using baling wire as it is very pliable but very strong. I even used it for the pine cones. You can buy a large coil of it at Home Depot.
I had also inserted pepperberries in the florals....
Hello Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteYour arrangements are just beautiful! I would love to be able to have those at my home but the wind would rip it all to shreds! We live in a very windy area and it really puts the dampers on doing anything like that outside unfortunately. Thank you for hosting and enjoy your weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
The wreath and the sled look lovely! I like the ice skates, too!
ReplyDeleteLovin' what you have done here...it's all beautiful!

Thanks for the reminder, Bernideen! I love your porch! I have a bunch of the long Sugar Pine cones around from when we lived at Lake Almanor in NE Calif. I love your ice skates! So cute!

Love your decorations, it seems we have all decided to go natural this year, and take advantage of nature's gifts.
ReplyDeleteLove the ice-skates on the wooden sled, I've been keeping a look-out for an old pair, they make a wonderfully festive accessory.
