MY FRIEND for "Tea In The Garden"

This week I have a special friend who has agreed to pose for photos in my garden
This is the first time in 10 years that my friend Lou Ann has visited with her husband.  We have had a great time. We have been friends since 1966 which is a long time ago.

Lou Ann and I met a long time ago when I went to a small Bible College in Des Moines, Iowa.  I was 17 years old and she had just been married a couple months before. We became great friends and 2 years later she and her husband were in our wedding.  That was just a few years ago - 1968!

Over the years we have enjoyed many
specials meals and moments together.
Our friends lived in Toronto for some
time and we enjoyed visits there.

I set up a little tea vignette out under the tree quickly as showers were threatening any moment.

My friend was tucked under the tree so even if it did rain - she would not have gotten wet.  Yes, it did finally rain.

I have been cooking up a storm and last night I made a chocolate pie - like the Bishops Chocolate Pie.  It has been fun to have more people to cook for!

Most of the pieces I am sharing today are English.  I do love the yellow depression glass cream and sugar that my Grandmother gave me back in the late 70's.  You might also notice the Victorian Plant Stand I had shared before with the china pieces on the top and lower area.  Remember it was dark before when I shared it and now it is painted shabby chic.  I really like it better!

  1. Oh Bernideen,
Your friend is so lovely in your garden! Her dress is perfect and I love her hat, parasol(spelling?) and fan. She looks beautiful. Your teapot is my absolute favourite one (the rosy chintz one) - how I would love that. Your newest table topper is so dainty and sweet. I love your BlogSpot. It always makes me smile. Thanks for hosting such a fun party! Have a wonderful week! Take care,
    Karen

  2. Hi Bernideen,
I am glad Lou Ann posed for you and what a lovely picture she makes too, holding her parasol! I love the teapot and the pretty table it is sitting on. Of course the pot she is holding is my favourite! I know you both enjoyed your visit and it's so much fun to spend time with a cherished friend. Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a lovely Summer!

  11. Always such a lovely and lush garden tea with Bernideen! Your friend looks made for such a setting and all your lovelies are perfectly chosen for the event. Sorry about the rain - but - sometimes a soft summer rain is just as relaxing as tea with old friends in the garden.
    Joy!

  31. I just came across this post. I don't know how I missed it before. I love this header picture of Lou Ann holding the fan and parasol. May I have your permission to make a copy of it? At one time I owned a business in a mall across from a photographer. Since I rented tuxedos and he shot photos of young men for their senior pictures, we worked together quite often. At one point he had a photo he had taken of two little girls having a tea party. I told him I would love to buy a copy of it. He received permission from the family, and I have loved my little girl's tea party ever since.
