LAST DAYS OF SUMMER for "Tea In The Garden"

We have been having very cool nights with temperatures down into the 50's and the air this morning feels like fall is just around the corner.  I hope you can join me in the garden:

We are using my vintage Spode Coffee
Pot for a teapot today.  I hope you
 don't mind
 that it isn't
a teapot.

I am playing with that aperture setting on the camera although I realize I really am just guessing at things.

I tend to prefer older cups and saucers but when Herman Dodge closed a few years ago I decided to keep these two English Garden trios.

I have noticed my camera seems to do better when it isn't as sunny out - like today.  Of course, it is hard to find a non sunny day here!  Which is certainly nothing to
complain about.

  1. Happy September, Bernideen! Your Spode is just beautiful and I like the English trios. I often use my coffee pot for tea. Most don't even notice the difference. Your table covering is so pretty!
We are having dreary rainy weather these days and a very high wind on the weekend which of course didn't allow me to set up an outdoor tea. But I have no control over the weather. It's always a pleasure to join you for tea and have a wonderful new week.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  4. The English Garden trio is pretty Bernideen, a good set to keep for yourself.
Pouring rain for two days here but we sure needed it in the gardens.
Overcast days or early evening is my favourite time to photograph outside so that you don't get the overexposure from the sunlight.
Thank you for hosting tea in your garden.

  5. I would have kept the trios too! Very pretty. Your garden is lovely ... all the flowers so colorful. Summer is not the time to have tea in the garden here. I'm looking forward to some fall weather (temps under 95) to have tea outside! Beautiful teapot and teascape you've set. Thank you for hosting and Happy Tea Day~

  8. Hi Bernideen,
I am so sad that your Teas in the Garden may be ending soon. This one today is once again so lovely. Your trios are magnificent! Love your Spode coffee pot too. I also used a coffee pot today for tea. That teacup stand is so unique - I have never seen one like it. Thank you for hosting all of the inviting Teas in the Garden. It wouldn't have been summer without them! Have a wonderful week! Karen

  12. My camera doesn't like a real sunny day either. My first notice was actually the pretty white linens on the table. Love them. I would definitely keep those trios too, very lovely.

  24. I did not know the name Herman Dodge but these teawares are lovely! And on the topic of sun and photography, I attended a food blogger conference with a famous food photographer earlier this year, and she says her favorite weather for photography is actually a gray, rainy day because she says it gives the light a "metallic" quality. She's not only not bothered by gray days, she prefers them! Thought that was interesting.
