STEP BY STEP for "Tea In The Garden"

After lifting something way to heavy last week, my back
told me the party was over. So after much ice, medicine and
not doing much of anything, I am back.
  Things aren't perfect but improved
so I am sharing a little "Tea In The Garden" posting.
I had already
 decorated outside the front
door for fall.  It is still
hot though with high humidity.

Almost 3 months ago we hired a brick mason
to come redo our front entrance steps and
sidewalk.  It's one of those projects that
took much longer than it should so we are
so glad the steps and sidewalk are done.

Here is the house and you can see some mulch on the
driveway that I wasn't about to move.  We
are still going from project to project.

While I show you a few things - please have some lovely tea.
I picked a few roses and flowers from the garden.

The idea for new steps was really for safety.
The inspection report for our home suggested
that we needed  additional steps added
to the one single step so that it wouldn't be
so steep coming up to the door.

I am sharing my English Tapestry teapot:

After painting our front door green, we
noticed it still needs more paint so I
am sure it will be coming off again.

We look forward to cooler temps this fall.
I love this little flag I found in a flower shop
in Washington, Missouri:

I will be sharing this post at:

I hope you can join my tea time blog party below:

Hi Bernideen, I'm glad that you're not going to be lifting the mulch! You've done so much and you need so relaxation.
Your entryway is so welcoming, my friend. I've always loved your Fall lady and your tea on the bench looks perfect. Thanks for hosting and happy weekend.
P. S. I enjoyed your recommendation on the books in your previous post.

Glad you're feeling better, Bernideen! I know all about sore backs. I have learned the hard way to leave the heavy lifting to my hubby. It wasn't easy either because I have always been fairly independent that way. The front of your home looks very nice and well cared for. I love the green bench on which you have your tea set out. Thank you for hosting and have a lovely day.

I am so glad you are feeling better! There is nothing as painful as back pain. Your tea is lovely. I especially love the scaregirl! i have been wanting to have my grand kiddos over to make one for the garden porch. Maybe this weekend! You have given me incentive. Trust you will have a pain free weekend.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about your back. Hope the pain is gone soon. The brick walkway and porch look great.

Bernideen, I'm so happy to hear you are on the mend. Your brickwork looks lovely. My post today is something a little different from my usual. Rather than being about one of my original recipes, it has links to some of them and is all about how I enjoy all my tea treats and desserts (without resorting to artificial sweeteners). I hope your back is completely better soon.

So sorry that the party was over by hurting your back. I like those slow steps to your frontdoor so much better than one steep step, which is not good for your back either. You will have to be careful for some time but I´m glad your teaparty has already started again. The lady in the corner is so pretty.

Good to know that you are on the mend. A bad back is no fun. So many projects that you folks have tackled. The masonry job may have taken too long, but he sure did a fabulous job.

Good Afternoon Bernideen, I am so pleased to hear that you are on the mend and that you are taking things slowly.
I adore your seating arrangement, and the green metal seat with the heart shapes is gorgeous.
Here in England we don't tend to dress our porches or front doors for Autumn, so it is always lovely to visit to see what I could do. If only we didn't have such strong winds during Autumn, then I could hang a wreath on the door. Never mind, I will enjoy your entryway instead.
Take good care of yourself.
Best wishes

Hi Bernideen,
I was so happy to see you were able to post this week. I just love the colour of your door and that pretty bench. What a gorgeous entry to your home. The chintz teapot and teacup are lovely too. Your home looks very inviting and how I wish that we were closer. Take care of yourself. Blessings, Karen

Awww, another tea in the garden I have missed. I finally got my totes and dining table away from my buffet, so I could actually have a tea, somewhere---but, kitchen still ripped apart but slowly coming together. Anyways, take care of your back, as I sit here with my leg up from a slippery fall this morning. It's heck getting old, and banging oneself up doesn't help. Take care, and I promise to have something to post soon! Sandi
