A CELEBRATION OF AUTUMN for "Tea In The Garden"

Welcome to my blog and glad you could visit

for another pausing time.

 Let's have a cup of

tea in my garden.

It is very windy out so when the wind comes

up, I will be holding this vase.  I lost

2 vases this summer by having them out on

windy days.

I love the older faded and soft quilts.

We are finishing up lots of things in

the garden and outside today.

I am sure you are doing the same.

It seems every project always takes longer

than we remember it taking the last

time we did it.  We must block it out of our

memory somehow.

We are having lovely cool days now.

It started to cool off the last couple of weeks

of August and then into September there was

a huge change.  You know that feeling of

shock that it could feel so cool after a

hot summer.  Our furnace has come on

at night already.

My husband and I have stayed close to home

with the dangers and concerns about Covid.

Our hospitals here in Columbia have

 17 patients with

417 active cases in our county.

I hope you are well and staying safe.

  1. We had our first snow fall this morning; just a trace to an inch. We have been putting our outdoor patio and garden things away for the winter. I love your Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt you have displayed for your Tea Time. Our state is doing quite bad with active Covid 19 cases. We stay home with only going out to shop for what we need and we always wear a mask. I hope and pray this way of life will soon be a memory of the past.

  2. Bernideen, how beautiful the faded grandmother's flower garden quilt is. Love too, the faded hydrangeas and the pretty teapot. How lovely to sit there and drink in the pretty setting and enjoy a cup of tea, or two. It sounds as if Old Man Winter will be arriving at your place soon...brrrr!

  5. I don't know what those lovely red/purple blossoms are by Peter Rabbit, but
they match the tea pot beautifully in the collage photo.
That is such a lacy white table cloth to show off the vase of flowers.
Here the Covid numbers are going up drastically so I go out only for
groceries quickly. Too bad it has come to this. Stay safe and enjoy
the garden clean up while the weather is decent.

  8. Dear Bernideen. I'm so glad you posted as I was thinking about you while cleaning up my garden/flowers/yard last week. Yes, the wind has been an issue. And, shhhh (AGE) is the culprit, everything takes longer and a greater toll. I'm still dealing with cleanup/bulbs/and the last-thank goodness- of the garden. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I revel in the goldenness of all of it. Stay safe and hugs, soon we will have to have a cuppa in the cozy-ness of home! Hugs, Sandi

  9. Your garden photos are always so captivating. So beautiful and tranquil. The cooler days and chillier nights are my preference after a long hot humid summer! Now is the best time to enjoy a cup of tea!

  10. Your hydrangeas are stunning, Bernideen! How sad that you lost two vases from the windy days. I love the chintz teapot that you're using. Happy Fall!
