As we anxiously await spring, I am remembering that one of the first things to appear will be the violets.
A year ago I found this violet and lilac Bavarian chocolate pot for $6.00. It had no lid but I gave that matter some thought and ordered a lid that worked. It has hand painting on it which is wonderful to see
in our age of decals. I am also sharing two English Violet Cups and Saucers and some violet vintage linens.
It is still somewhat cold weather in Colorado this morning and perfect for hot chocolate so we can use our teacups for that today. So today it will be "Friends Sharing Tea" or hot chocolate! You might remember this little arrangement I did several years back in an old Victorian coffee pot with a broken spout.
As you can see, this tea cart has sides that can be raised up and lock to create a table. It is very handy. Once I failed to make sure the lock was secure and of course - a broken saucer was the result.
I love everything about violets
and I am sure you do too!

Bernideen, I love that chocolate pot. You would never know the lid didn't come with it! All your violet tea things are beautiful. About your tea cart story -- a friend recently gifted my daughter a tea cart, and warned her about the very same thing. She had lost a whole stack of dishes! Ouch! ReplyDeleteLove violets and have a large pot of speckled violets that come up every spring. I am hoping they will bloom for Easter this year. Your tea table is so pretty and springy. The colors so fresh and inviting.
ReplyDeleteI do like violets and look forward to mine peeking through the snow next month. The assembled tea cart with the violet theme is pretty, love the napkin/hand towel hanging at the end on the handle. I hang embroidered hand towels on the end of mine too - might as well make use of the bar!

Your violet themed tea cart is lovely! I really like the coffee pot flower arrangement with the bird on the spout. The different patterns of violets on the linens were a fun touch with the different violet teacups.

Not that I can see them under all this snow but do remember them well. I have somewhat the same tea cart, I'm thinking now that I'll paint mine white. What a great idea to use a coffee pot with and to cover the broken spout with a bird. Have a wonderful week

ReplyDeleteWell, yes, I do love violets. Perhaps this spring I shall break out ALL my violet themed tea things and make a meadow of them on my dining room table. Now - the chocolate pot reminds me of one I remember having, but haven't seen for some time. Did I give that away? It was white with pink roses. Now, I shall have to search high and low for it! I love violets too and am even hoping to make jam out of some wild violets this year. Thanks for sharing the tip about the lid. I have passed up many pretty pieces that were missing a lid, and I don't know why it never occurred to me that could be remedied quite easily!
