WHEN FALL APPROACHES INSIDE AND OUT

The garden has been thirsty for
 rain far too
often this summer.

I noticed a sweet bird nest tucked up in
the bittersweet:

I decided to welcome fall's soon
arrival by getting out my fall looking
transferware and setting the table.

I love the look of mix and
match transferware.

And a quilt to welcome
the season:

This year I decided to tuck a few
tomato plants and peppers
in with the flowers.
I think I will do more next year.

  3. Beautiful bittersweet. I am lucky enough to see wild when I walk in our community. Lots of undeveloped lots with wildlife and plants to enjoy. My girl friend has been doing tomatoes and peppers and even radishes in her flower beds for a few years and has plenty of produce. I am sure you enjoy your fresh. But I am not at all in the mood for summer to end, regardless of the high heat we are having and the dry.

  4. Your fall bouquet is gorgeous! I really need to grow more fall colors or start a whole new set of flowers to last until October. Fall colors are so pretty!

  5. Even with your lack of water this year, your fall garden is stunning. I enjoy seeing your inside decor and especially the quilt hanging over the stairway. I have a similar stairway and you've given me a good idea. Thank you!

  6. Oh, how lovely is your garden area in all seasons!! I wonder what kind of bird nest that is! Have you noticed any birds coming and going? Maybe it's too late now in the season for them. Your table and dining area is so very lovely. Thank you for sharing it with us. That is really a perfect setting to dine. I love that there is a fireplace there as well. Yes, Autumn seems to be appearing in and outside your lovely home. Thank you for taking us along with you. Have a blessed week!

  7. How wonderful that you have some bittersweet. I just love using that stuff. Your garden looks great for all the dry weather we have had. Do you use soaker hoses?
