CHILDHOOD CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

Today I am sharing an old Christmas Memory...well that's easy because that was the year I got this doll back in the l950's!  My Mother had wrapped a box of paper dolls in "tin foil" (I think it really was tin back then) I crawled under the tree to try and peak in the box and the whole tree fell on me breaking some of the glass balls - what a mess that was! Boy was that scarey for a kid.

  2. Glad you recovered and could share the memory! :) That happened to at least one of my cats too! One of the reasons I don't buy real trees...

  4. Your doll is still lovely. I'm sure you treasure her. The incident with the tree must have been scary for you. No wonder you remember that Christmas in particular.

  5. Your doll is sweet...we also have a toppling Christmas Tree story...it was when we lived in CA -- missing our family, this one kind family invited us over, it was just Don and Spenser (3) then. You can only imagine my fright when Miss Spenser, so engrossed in the pretties on the tree knocked it over! Their 6 year old son interjected, "This is the worse Christmas ever!" YIKES...They didn't have us over again! ha...

  6. Bernideen, I can't help it. This made me laugh aloud. Did you get in trouble?

One year I saw my mother put something on the shelf of her closet, and when she went outside, I peeked. It was a new outfit for my Barbie. Of course, my mother caught me, and she cried. That was the first and last of my peeking.

Happy Pink Saturday. Your doll is gorgeous.

  8. Memories are so cherished. Even if they fall on us. lol I love your doll. I had my children peaking every year, and one day I gave everyone a reindeer name and every gift had the reindeername on it. So no more peeking. I still do this every year.
