AN AUTUMN GARDEN TEA for "Friends Sharing Tea"

We have some lovely weather again so
why not get out and enjoy it!

It's a slightly cloudy day in October:

I have a few treats left over from my Afternoon Tea
that was Sunday so pour
yourself a cup of tea to go with your sweets.

The mostly brown leaves are just
 starting to
fall down in our yard.  There is still
 a lot of green but
the air says that fall is
definitely here.

We are excited to have a new Koi fish
in our pond
 who we named "King Josiah":

Let's sit a moment for tea and let me show
you this lovely book with drawings
by the late Edith Holden.  I have shared
her books before and these pictures
are from "The Nature Notes of An
Edwardian Lady".

If you are a blogger, I hope you can share a post about tea
today and link at the bottom of this page.

A BITTERSWEET TEA for "Tea In The Garden"

We are so loving the change in temperature here
in Missouri.  Frankly, we were very ready
after a hot summer which was
to be expected but at times a bit trying.

This morning I set up a little tea time
 under the deck area
in the garden.  Things have
really settled back in
the garden.

Do you know this song?

I have been enjoying getting out my
fall cookbooks and some tea books.

Yesterday we took a break and
I found a branch of bittersweet at an antique mall.
I just planted 12 bittersweet plants too so I hope to
have my own in a few years.  They told me to buy at least
5 plants as some were male and some female but impossible
to tell apart so to insure berries - buy 5.  To be really
safe, I bought 12.  Anyone in our area can find them at
Missouri Wildflower Gardens in Jefferson City, Mo.

It is such a lovely day and in fact all week has been amazing.
Please pour yourself a cup of Cinnamon tea!

I have been enjoying the pumpkins I made last year.

I am sorry to be a little late today with posting!

SITTING PRETTY for "Tea In The Garden"

Tonight as it was cooling off a little I
took a few photos out front where I set
up a little tea table on the sidewalk.

There are a few things blooming
here and there. Please enjoy a cup
 of tea with me.

I just purchased the ornamental
 kale for fall.

I was looking at a few recipes in
 this new
Hoffman Media book.

My teapot is an Ellsgreave:

I am amazed at how big the
 acorns are
from the oak in
our backyard.

The bees are loving the cosmos
I grew from seeds:

Next year I hope to grow a lot more
plants from seeds. Here are a few blooms from the garden.  Being quite the amateur gardener, I didn't stake the dahlias but
will next year.

Thank you everyone for concerns and prayers for my back.  I am much better but my lifting heavy things days are certainly over.

STEP BY STEP for "Tea In The Garden"

After lifting something way to heavy last week, my back
told me the party was over. So after much ice, medicine and
not doing much of anything, I am back.
  Things aren't perfect but improved
so I am sharing a little "Tea In The Garden" posting.
I had already
 decorated outside the front
door for fall.  It is still
hot though with high humidity.

Almost 3 months ago we hired a brick mason
to come redo our front entrance steps and
sidewalk.  It's one of those projects that
took much longer than it should so we are
so glad the steps and sidewalk are done.

Here is the house and you can see some mulch on the
driveway that I wasn't about to move.  We
are still going from project to project.

While I show you a few things - please have some lovely tea.
I picked a few roses and flowers from the garden.

The idea for new steps was really for safety.
The inspection report for our home suggested
that we needed  additional steps added
to the one single step so that it wouldn't be
so steep coming up to the door.

I am sharing my English Tapestry teapot:

After painting our front door green, we
noticed it still needs more paint so I
am sure it will be coming off again.

We look forward to cooler temps this fall.
I love this little flag I found in a flower shop
in Washington, Missouri:
