BLOOMS STILL AROUND THE GARDEN

Cool nights are certainly here but no frost yet so

we have some booms still coming along:

There is a lot of buzzing around the

 Butterfly Bushes and the Cosmos:

I have collected cosmos seeds daily:

One of my goals about gardening is simply to "learn more"!   In

the summer I grew Forget Me Nots from seeds and use rooting

hormone to grow little Chrysanthemums from cuttings.  I

have been dividing the Forget Me Nots over and over and

spreading them all around.  They should bloom next year.

I also grew Zinnias and Cosmos from seeds

 and plan

to do more in the spring.

A NEW ARBOR TO ENTER THE GARDEN

Last week we added an arbor to our yard.  It was a kit that we put together.  I think I have mentioned this before but what was challenging was that our yard goes way down in the back and also is higher on one side than the other side. It is hardly flat anywhere.

On Sunday afternoon, I moved two rose bushes placing one on each side of the arbor.  I expect they will be stronger next spring.  I guess I can say I expect many things to come back stronger next spring.  At least that is my
 dream as my garden is brand new this year.

So this morning I set up my "Friends Sharing Tea" by the arbor.  I am sharing a couple things today including the cup and saucer that was given to me by my new friend Janice at 
"Curtains In Curtains In My Tree:

We hope to have lots of lovely fall weather yet like we had yesterday.  It was a day for us to drive off down the road and see what we might find.  I found this fun little Japanese
teapot in a tiny town called Macon.

  I thought it was a coffee but it has a built
 in strainer so I guess it is a teapot. (?)

There are still a few flowers blooming here and there and to tell you the truth in some ways it doesn't look so much like fall here but I did notice more changing of the tree colors outside of town.

 at the antique mall outside Macon:

I got home late last night so I apologize for goofing off and  not getting this post done earlier!  I seem to apologize for not getting lots of things done now that I'm retired.

AN AUTUMN GARDEN TEA for "Friends Sharing Tea"

We have some lovely weather again so

why not get out and enjoy it!

It's a slightly cloudy day in October:

I have a few treats left over from my Afternoon Tea
that was Sunday so pour 

yourself a cup of tea to go with your sweets.

The mostly brown leaves are just
 starting to
fall down in our yard.  There is still
 a lot of green but
the air says that fall is
definitely here.

We are excited to have a new Koi fish 
in our pond
 who we named "King Josiah":

BLOOMS OF COLOR

Today was a perfect day.  It was cool and cloudy
 and the perfect chance to plant my tulip
and allium bulbs.  I also took a few
 close-up photos of color here and there:

ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI

This morning we were up early as my husband thought

 he had an appointment.  When we realized that

 the appointment wasn't today but another day,

 we decided to go goof off.  We have a brochure that

 tells all about 5 antique malls in the St. Louis area,

 so we decided to visit the St. Charles Antique Mall 

and then drive through the historic district.

The sidewalks and streets are brick and

most of the buildings are brick in St. Charles.

The city dates to 1769 when it founded by

Louis Blanchette, a French Canadian

Fur Trader.  Many French Canadians

came to settle the city.  Today I loved

seeing all the corn husks that were decorating

the town doorways and lamp posts.

I always love the special plant details 

in historic areas. 

I wish I could tell you that I went to this tea room below but we

were dressed very casually for the day.  Another day for sure!

TABLE BOUQUETS

Today it was time to wash the linens from all

the tea tables.  I set all the bouquets on

the buffet and they looked "shareable".

Even a first year garden bloomed enough flowers that I didn't

have to go to the market to supplement!

Give someone a tiny bouquet - it's charming - see them smile!
