Dear Blogging Friends:
thank you for bearing with
me as I return to blog land after
a hard drive crash.....but not in a car!

So I give you this bouquet!  I think I need a
bouquet myself considering all the "new stuff"
I have to learn!  Yesterday I went out in the
garden and grabbed what I could find for my vase.

I have to confess here that I hate learning
new things - well at least in the computer
"tech" field.  This disease of not wanting to
learn new things gets much worse as
one ages..... not that I am ancient.
You see,
I was spoiled using Picasa for collages and
watermarking my pictures.  Not anymore.  I see
Picasa is no more so now I have to use a
new format which I have to learn.

Back to my garden blooms - this is
the weird assortment of what I found
 still surviving our cool nights.

The mums I rooted on the side
 of our house
got huge this fall!

As you can see the leaves are just starting to turn
but with so little rain this summer I think there
won't be a lot of color.

I hope you can join me next week for tea
related "Friends Sharing Tea" blog party on Wednesday.

Well dear friends...our HP computer hard drive
decided it has had enough fun .....
so no blog party
this week!
Hope your week is lovely!

Hello dear blogging friends.  I know I have heard some of you say that due to a certain "time crunch" you are doing a "repost".  Well, today is my day for that as this will be a repost from 2009.

I have to tell you I have been very busy working on things as I have rented a stall (that is 8 x 11 booth) at the local Midway Antique/Flea Market right along I-70 west of Columbia, Missouri.

Today I am sharing (again) these wonderful Zucchini Walnut Bars.  These are very delicious - even if they were baked back in 2009.  I need to make these
again for my husband and myself and to take over
to my son and family!

Do you have zucchinis still from this summer?
This recipe is from "Scones, Muffins , Tea Cakes" originally printed in 1996 by Collins Publishers.
 (I think Out Of Print)

Zucchini and Black Walnut Bars with Cream Cheese Frosting:

1 1/2 cups loosely packed, coarsely grated zucchini
2 large eggs,1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup corn oil, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground allspice, 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg, 1 cup black walnuts chopped

Frosting: 3 oz cream cheese softened, 2 cups softened confectioner's sugar, 2 Tb milk, dash of salt, 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees- oil a 9 x 13 baking dish- set aside
In a large bowl beat together eggs, sugar and oil until well blended. Beat in vanilla.

In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg. Stir in flour mix into the egg mix blending well. Add the zucchini and walnuts and mix. Spread into baking dish. Bake 30 minutes till top springs back when touched. Let cool

To make frosting in a bowl: beat cream cheese till smooth, add sugar and milk, then salt and vanilla- If too thick - add more milk until spreadable. Ice cool cake. Slice with very sharp knife.

Columbia is located about half way between
Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri so if you
come along I-70, please check out my stall
loaded with cups and saucers, homemade
tea cozies, teapots, tea books, etc.

I hope you will enjoy baking these!
Please join me for my blog party called
"Friends Sharing Tea".
I will join these other parties too:

FALL COLLAGES for "Friends Sharing Tea"

Today I am moving my blog party
back to it's fall and winter name
which is "Friends Sharing Tea".

My old scarecrow tea
 is here to greet
you at the door!

It's always fun to change up my armoire
for each season with tea wares that
reflect the calendar.

And the buffet top:

And this is actually part of a "Perk-o-lator"
coffee pot I found recently which holds a
big 8 cups so I plan to use it for tea as
I think it has a "Jane Austen" feel about it
with the silhouettes on it.

More porch decorations:

We are having some much needed
rain today.  My heart is heavy as
I am sure your's is about the
shootings in Nevada.
  Let's pray for
our country.

I hope you can join my tea time blog party
today - I am linking with these:
