Last week we added an arbor to our yard. It was a kit that we put together. I think I have mentioned this before but what was challenging was that our yard goes way down in the back and also is higher on one side than the other side. It is hardly flat anywhere.
On Sunday afternoon, I moved two rose bushes placing one on each side of the arbor. I expect they will be stronger next spring. I guess I can say I expect many things to come back stronger next spring. At least that is my
dream as my garden is brand new this year.
So this morning I set up my "Friends Sharing Tea" by the arbor. I am sharing a couple things today including the cup and saucer that was given to me by my new friend Janice at
"Curtains In Curtains In My Tree:
We hope to have lots of lovely fall weather yet like we had yesterday. It was a day for us to drive off down the road and see what we might find. I found this fun little Japanese
teapot in a tiny town called Macon.
I thought it was a coffee but it has a built
in strainer so I guess it is a teapot. (?)
This was a tea book from 1987 that I also found
at the antique mall outside Macon:
I got home late last night so I apologize for goofing off and not getting this post done earlier! I seem to apologize for not getting lots of things done now that I'm retired.
You can see more on the Hartford Arbor here! We ordered ours with their 11% rebate and got free shipping.
I love your new arbor Bernideen! It makes your yard even more picture perfect for your tea in the garden! You found a darling teapot and your gifted teacup is so pretty! Thank you for hosting your blog party!
ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteYour new arbor is so lovely and it really doesn't look like fall in your beautiful garden. The tea/coffee pot is so pretty with the teacup and your flowers are amazing. Thank you for hosting Friends Sharing Tea. Blessings, Karen
Your arbour is lovely, Bernideen, and isn't it lovely to be gifted china from friends! I would have guessed your teapot is a coffee pot too but with the strainer, it has to be for tea. It's a pretty one in any case.
ReplyDeleteOur grass is still very green but the fallen leaves have covered a lot of it up. We've had a lot of wind so our trees are getting pretty bare. After Monday everyone will be focusing on your American Thanksgiving and Christmas which is rather exciting. I'm looking forward to all the holiday decor. Thank you for sharing and have a beautiful weekend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Bernideen, I love your new arbor! My current post is something called "Stuffed Bell Peppers Deconstructed," so I went to my Recipes index page and looked under the subheading Teatime for something suitable to link and chose this post from 5 years ago. I need to make it now! Oh, and I remember that book from 1987 -- fun find.
ReplyDeleteOh Bernideen, your new arbor is a beautiful addition to your garden area!! There is no reason for you to apologize for being late. You need to enjoy your retirement and we just appreciate you! Your new teapot is a beauty and a nice treasure from your road trip. Thanks for hosting and enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice addition to your garden!
ReplyDeleteYour arbor is wonderful and makes your yard much more charming than it already was.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh thanks for showing the tea cup and saucer I gave you.
This weather is wonderful for your outdoor showing off of all your treasures. Gina and I went to Macon one day and I hadn't been for years.
I hope to plant some fall bulbs tomorrow
Love being able to join you this week....your yard looks beautiful and each year becomes ore luscious than the previous one.
ReplyDeleteBeing retired means never having to say sorry! Just when I thought your garden couldn't be more charming, you add the arbor. Nice!!! Your new teacup and teapot are also lovely. Thanks for hosting and enjoy the last weekend of October.
ReplyDeleteYou are creating a charming backyard for tea outdoors Bernideen. I love arbours and have 3 of them, clematis and/or roses climbing up. They seem to add a touch of romance with flowers cascading from them.
ReplyDeleteThere are no level spots in our backyard either except the wooden floor of the tea house my hubby built.
What a beautiful arbor, Bernideen. I absolutely LOVE an arbor in the garden. I think it is a perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteYour settings are as gorgeous as always. Happy tea time to you- xo Diana
I love your outdoors, Bernideen, and you always set beautiful tea tables. Thanks for hosting and Happy Halloween!...Christine
ReplyDeleteYou folks did a good job assembling that beautiful arbor. It adds a lot of charm to your garden and will be the perfect backdrop for your tea parties.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful spot for your roses. I can see them climbing already! Lovely tea you have served. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen, I do like Macon alot, especially The Weather Vane. Your teapot is gorgeous, is it Nippon? Your new arbor is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteTalk to you soon,
Gina
Love your beautiful new arbor! And your tea in the garden is so welcoming - simply beautiful!
