SITTING PRETTY for "Tea In The Garden"

Tonight as it was cooling off a little I
took a few photos out front where I set
up a little tea table on the sidewalk.

There are a few things blooming
here and there. Please enjoy a cup
 of tea with me.

I just purchased the ornamental
 kale for fall.

I was looking at a few recipes in
 this new
Hoffman Media book.

My teapot is an Ellsgreave:

I am amazed at how big the
 acorns are
from the oak in
our backyard.

The bees are loving the cosmos
I grew from seeds:

Next year I hope to grow a lot more
plants from seeds. Here are a few blooms from the garden.  Being quite the amateur gardener, I didn't stake the dahlias but
will next year.

Thank you everyone for concerns and prayers for my back.  I am much better but my lifting heavy things days are certainly over.

  1. Very pretty Bernideen. I like cosmos very much also and planted some from seed, seems they were a long time blooming this year.
You must be better to carry your table and chairs out front on your gorgeous walkway to have tea.
Lady scarecrow still looks charming watching the front door, love her tea pot necklace she is styling.
    Glad your back is better

  3. Hi Bernideen,
I am so happy to see you back and posting Tea in the Garden. I do pray your back pain subsides. Unfortunately it is raining here again so my outdoor tea times may have come to an end. Yours is so colourful today and the Ellegreaves teapot is very pretty. Perfect for fall. I am now inspired to bring out some of my fallish toned china pieces after seeing your previous post too. Have a Wonderful Weekend Sweet Friend! Blessings, Karen

  4. What a beautiful tea time you have set, Bernideen.

I truly love your color choices. Your acorn is AWESOME - and love it on your table with the oak leaves still attached - so neat! Your flowers are still blooming - isn't it odd how hot it still is? It's high 80s and low 90s lately - humid and hot hot hot. It doesn't feel like fall at ALL yet - though it is rumored it may rain and be followed by returning cool temps at last.

Have a blessed and wonderful weekend. Hugs and love. ♥♥

  7. Hi Bernideen,
I'm glad your back is feeling better. I think I told you that I had to learn the hard way not to do any heavy lifting any longer. Those jobs I leave to my Superman now. Your acorns are pretty big! What fun to decorate with them. You have such a pretty garden and I love your pillows! Your cosmos are lovely and bring such a wonderful colour to your yard. Enjoy your weekend and your favourite season, Autumn!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  12. I had to chuckle when you described yourself as an "amateur gardener." You are anything but amateur. Your garden planning skills are so impressive and you grow such a variety of gorgeous flowers. I love seeing your pretty bouquets at tea time each week.
So glad you are able to enjoy the nice fall weather with an outside tea.Tea time today was inside due to 100 degree temps. Eventually autumn will arrive.
    Keep resting your back.

  16. Hi Bernideen, I love how you set up tea in your front garden. You have so many lovely flowers still. I am loving the bit of color I have left as well. I recently got some of those acorns with the ruffly tops at a roadside stand. I had never seen them before. I am hosting a fall tea in my garden on Nov. 8th. Hope to be able to link to your party.
    hugs,
    Jann
