DECKING THE HALLS

We have had a lovely bit of snow every day now
for several days and I have to say it sure is pretty!

I have had so much fun pulling out my Christmas decor.  You know how it works - you find something you bought at the end of or after the season last year and tucked away.  Such as the case when I found some red plaid wool afghans and a red roses Sadler teapot that I thought would be sweet for Christmas.

I love my Nicol Sayre angels.

After baking some fruitcakes a few days ago, I made a list
of other recipes I aspire to bake.  It has been
cold outside so what a great time to bake!

We promised ourselves we would be more "sensible" this year when picking out our white fir Christmas tree.  Last year we were out of control and bought way to big a tree but after getting this one home it still seemed bigger than we thought too.  The height was right but it was way to wide.

I hope you are enjoying the season so far.

This is my weekly blog party and I would love to have you join in and link at the bottom.  The party is about anything related to tea time, cottage home or garden!

These photos below were last night after dark:

  4. Bernideen, your home looks magical all lit up at night! The reflection of the lights in the window just adds to the whimsical feel; lovely! I adore your red transferware displayed with the evergreens. Looks very festive. You're way ahead of me with the decorating. I'm quite late this year for some reason. Perhaps it's the company I keep having pop in. I have a large print above my sofa too and it has a black frame. I have often been tempted to paint it white and after seeing yours, it might be a good idea. Yours looks wonderful. Thank you for hosting and joining me today. Have a lovely week.

    Blessings,

  6. Hi Bernideen,
Oh how I love your red transferware on that gorgeous shelf. The fir tree branches look perfect for an added Christmas touch (I must copy you). Your tree is beautiful too. I must get decorating too, hadn't I? I see your dear cream and sugar that I found teacups to match in the summer at Salvation Army - Queens Rosina China Yuletide. I may have to borrow yours. It is such a pretty pattern. I will share my cups later this month. You are so very organized for Christmas! Love your afghans too! Happy Tea Day! (Can we still call it that? Lol.) Have a wonderful week! Karen

  11. Wow - you're really 'On the Ball', as people used to say! Your home looks lovely and I really enjoyed seeing the photos of your home at Christmastime. My favorite photo is the one you took looking down into your living room - with the tree lit and looking like a fairyland!! ++ It's very sweet of you to allow fellow bloggers to link their site. My link goes to my 'Pull-Apart Breakfast Biscuits with Caramel Sauce, Pecans and Maraschino Cherries' - perfect for Christmas morning.... with tea, of course! ;o)

  28. Bernideen- your home looks so pretty and festive! I love your new tree- and especially like that "aerial view" from upstairs!

I see you have the sugar and creamer to my favorite set of Christmas holly and berry teacups - I have a few Christmas sugars and creamers, but not ones to make my teacups. I used to look for them then quit. I think I may not be married in 2016 if I buy one more Christmas china piece, haha. : - )

Thank you for the party! Sorry I am late! ♥
