These are busy days - baking to do, decorating done but house needs to be cleaned for a guest. As I prepare this post it is hurry, hurry, hurry. I want to slow down and smell the roses or rather the Christmas Tree.
For us Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus God's only begotten Son:
While out on a buying trip for my shop, I found this little church which is also a music box that plays "Silent Night" clear as a bell.
I have several old booklets with the Christmas Carols. I am so sad that these have been removed from our public schools in America. As a child, we sang them there.
I can't believe how fast the paper whites have bloomed -
I planted them on Thanksgiving. As you can see, this weekend we had just a sprinkling of snow outside. I love it.
Your house and mantel look beautiful! Merry Christmas, Bernideen!
ReplyDeleteBernideen, I love all your pretty china! The nativity, the little music box church, and linens all make for a charming Christmas tea post. The Victorian lady figurine is lovely. It is sad that the little ones don't get to enjoy the Christmas carols in school any longer. At least we can still sing our hearts out at church and in our homes! Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a beautiful week and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Hi Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteI hope that you can slow down and enjoy Christmas and smell the Christmas tree. Lol! I have been busy with two birthdays and gifts for both. Your Christmas pics are so beautiful and I love your china. We both have Old Country Rose pics this week. Great minds think alike. Thank you for hosting tea time today. Take care of yourself. Happy Christmas! Karen
I love your little nativity scene Bernideen, and all your beautiful china. The paperwhites are so pretty against the background of snow.
ReplyDeleteI love the old-fashioned picture on the hymn "Hark the Herald Angels Sing;" brings back memories of the beautifully printed songbooks.
Hope you can slow down a little and enjoy.
Blessings to you, Deborah
I love seeing your pretty mantle and all your Christmas decor, Bernideen. Your nativity set is just darling! I also loved the gorgeous crocheted pot holder at the end. Oh, the work in that. It's a beauty! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
ReplyDeleteI so agree about the Christmas, Christ centered songs being missing...but not in mu world either! Your home looks lovely! I love all you china and decorations. Happy Birthday Jesus!

You've done a lot to create a lovely atmosphere of Christmas around your home Bernideen. Not only are the kids not singing Christmas carols at school, they're having no education of religion unless they go to church. Sad, how times are changing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting your weekly gathering. I'm wondering if you received the FB private message I sent enquiring about receiving the envelope I sent to you?
Lots and Lots of pretty tea things. Each picture is special. I was drawn to the crocheted pot holder. I do love them.
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely things to display in so many ways. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit. Your home is so lovely. I do enjoy the vintage look. As you do, I miss the wonderful Christmas carols that we sang as children, even at our school program, some of the best memories. I loaded my iPod with the traditional songs blessing Jesus and his arrival because I sure am hearing them on the radio either. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, Bernideen! Your home looks so beautifully decorated for Christmas and I love your mantel scarf with all the pretty decorations. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Nancy

Love the little musical church. Oh paper whites are my favorite for Christmas. Planting at Thanksgiving is a good thing. My husband always starts them too soon and now they are about finished. Thanks for sharing your lovely home and gardens with us this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious vignette you have for Christmas. Thank you for sharing.

Your home is so festive & beautiful. The little church reminds me of the ones I saw in so many homes during this time of the year as I was growing up. I especially love those little churches.
ReplyDeleteThe paper whites are beautiful ! I have never forced bulbs and am considering starting this year to have blooms indoors during the cold gray seasons. Thank-you Bernideen for hosting this tea time party.
Everything looks amazing. Love the angels. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
