THE VIOLETS ARE COMING for "Friends Sharing Tea"

One of the first flowers to appear in
the spring are little woodland violets!

Now that February is here, I couldn't
wait to get out my violet cups and saucers
and since last year, I collected a few
new ones along the journey.

I sat up a little table in the kitchen.

I know I am so silly about these old
vintage doilies - yes I admit it!

This of course is a chocolate pot
 with the short stubby spout:

I think I counted 9 violet cups and saucers:

This one is unusual with roses also on it:

  2. Good morning Bernideen
Your violets are so sweet! I love the teapot! I must get mine out before the month is over. Your linens really are lovely! The table cloth is exquisite and the doily as well.
We are having a pretty sunny day which is so welcome after all the bad weather we have had. Thank you for hosting and Congratulations on your milestone!

  3. I've seen pieces, but no matching anything. Had I bought all the pieces, I would have some sort of set by now. This is lovely---and I have always had an inherited passion for violets and pansies. Very pretty Bernideen, will have to find something to post for you, Sandi

  4. I love all you violet cups Bernideen. You have a nice collection. I have visited a lot of Thrift Shops this Winter to help pass this harsh Winter we've been having. I have more time in the Winter to do Tea setups. Once Summer comes, I'm more outside gardening and beachcombing and a lot of visitors. We still have a lot of snow on the ground. Thanks for hosting this lovely link up party. I usually visit all the great blogs. Have a great week.

  6. Violets are really pretty. I used to have pale lavender, purple, purple/white, white and yellow ones in my yard and garden. However, I've discovered them to grow very aggressively in my yard and garden. I ended up digging out hundreds of them last year. Again they are pretty. But they are not welcome in my garden - in my house, on a teacup, sure!

  7. I've been wanting to add more tea cups to my cabinet and now have the idea to single it out to one color or one flower like you've shown here. great idea.

  10. How beautiful is that first teapot Bernideen! I am ready to get in the garden with tea! It was 70 today here in Southern IL! Congrats on your 150th party! I haven't shared tea today but, I will continue to have tea this year on the blog. It will all come with a message from my Heavenly Father though. I haven't asked you yet but, do you object to the tea posts coming with a message from the scriptures? I also wanted to tell you that I am now ad free! I was really ready to make the break and it is much pleasanter to visit now.
    Have a great week!

  14. Hi Bernideen! WOW! What a beautiful violet post! Did you paint your press back chairs lavender? They look amazing with the light pink armoire. All of your violet teacups and pots are amazing! I think my favorite is the teapot on the pedestal with the gilt around the spout (or whatever you call it).
The lavender table cloth is gorgeous! I can just see you lugging that parlor table up from your tearoom!
I'll be calling you soon about Saturday. xoxo

  21. Bernideen, I love your violets and your doilies. Funny thing, young people think that's an "old lady" thing, but I loved my grandmother's doilies when I was very young! :D (I'm not linking up this week because I just posted roast beef to go with the Yorkshire pudding and, though I do love a dainty little roast beef tea sandwich, that's not what I have pictured!)
