A CUP OF TEA WITH BEATRIX POTTER for "Friends Sharing Tea"

Today I am being naughty.
Yes, this is a repost of photos
from 2014 so
 I hope you
love Beatrix Potter like I do
and then you won't mind.

Sometimes time seems to fly faster and
that's my excuse.

I think I have shared these two cups and
saucers numerous times as they are
definitely in my favorites box.  They
just remind me so much of springtime.

I am remembering how much fun it
was setting up this little vignette
back in Colorado.  I am looking
forward to having a Beatrix Potter
"Tea In The Garden" in the future.

Early last week I had planted some
 daffodils in my porch birdbath
with crocus and primroses.  Then it
turned so cold, I had to
bring it in the house.
 These things happen - right?

Regardless of the weather there are always
fun things we can do when waiting for
warm weather to really arrive:
 reading, baking, crafting, sewing
and how about this:  write a letter
to some elderly non computer person.
Now that would be a lovely gesture.

I tried to figure out how to delete the
old 2014 comments at the bottom
but could not for which I apologize!

  2. Hello Bernideen,
This is our worst winter in a very long time; snowstorm after snowstorm and blizzards! I am so ready for springtime! Your tea table is such a treat set with your lovely teapot; one of my favourites, and the BP figurines. I love Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck! They are really darling! Happy Birthday, my friend, and may it be a blessed one indeed. Thank you for hosting and joining me for Tea Time.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  3. You are making your age look great, Bernideen! I'd never imagined. I am also turning "the big one" this year (as is John) and I'm not counting anymore either. Your tea time things are always so charming. And I am jealous to know that all your snow is so soon gone.

  6. It's lovely and I like the spoon with the teapot handle. Now 65 is young from someone who is finding it hard to come to terms with 75!

  7. So many pretty things-the teapot, the tablecloth and those adorable Beatrix Potter figurines.

I'm 2 years behind you on the big birthday, but have never worried about the "increasing" numbers. I just say that my children sure are getting old!

  11. I had forgotten your birthday is this month too Bernideen, it's not on my calendar as I suppose I couldn't figure out which day for sure. Perhaps you'll send me an email with the date please?
Having the 'big one' sounds ominous, but you're only as old as you feel! Perhaps another BP figurine would ease the number, or tea out at a tearoom like I requested?
Wishing you a happy birthday no matter what you decide.

  12. Happy happy birthday dear Bernideen!
Don't worry it's only a number - it's all about how you feel! I've gone way past you and it doesn't worry me a scrap!
You have chosen a beautiful gift to celebrate your milestone - such gorgeous Beatrix Potter figurines!
I've fallen in love with your two little English cottage tea pots - what an amazing china collection you have - lucky girl!!! YES I still think of myself as a girl!
Joining you this week for tea

  15. Oh Bernideen, I'm turning 65 this month, too!! I can't believe it, either. You'll have to let me know which day your birthday is. You, Judith and I are all February birthdays.

  22. Dear Bernideen,
Happy, Happy Birthday!!! I hope when you blow out the candles, that your wish comes true.
I am a huge Beatrix Potter fan too and I could never tire of seeing those sweet little figures. Remember the Peter Rabbit Tea I had for my grandchildren in the summer?
You made such a wonderful setting and I bet I am not the only one who wishes they could stop by for your tea and wish you the best, Ruthie

  25. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Bernideen! The "big one" for me was turning 60. I was feeling sad at the realization that more years were behind me than ahead of me, until one day when I was out on a walk the Lord helped me realize that some people never live to see 60. I decided right then and there to be grateful for every birthday that's granted to me, and I've celebrated seven more birthdays since with great joy! Birthdays definitely beat the alternative! ;-)
I love your Beatrix Potter figurines. I don't have any, so I may have to remedy that some day soon! ;-)
    Blessings, Phyllis

  26. Happy Birthday to you! Make each day extra special. I hope you have something most wonderful planned for this very extra-ordinary day? For my 60th I threw myself a tea party for my best friends. For my 70th I took myself to San Francisco for 3 days just to celebrate myself and life achievements. Celebrate each day.
Oh I love your Beatrix Potter figurines so much and have been tempted at times, but have resisted.
Celebrate fully just who you are.

  28. Dearest Bernideen, I hope you have the best and most wonderful 65th year ahead of you. It's a great time to be alive, (despite the rotten winter). Your table looks like a storybook and I think that being child like and having this fantasy tea and playing with lovely figurines is exactly what I would love to do. Much love and happiness to you. :)

  35. Happy Birthday! Blessing for the year to come. I have a small collection of RD bunnykins and a few Beatrix Potter pieces. I love them for their own sweet selves and for the memories they bring. Each was a gift from my daughters. We were very lucky to have had an old set of Beatrix Potter books which I read to the girls so often I swear Jemima Puddle Duck recognized ME. This is so darling I'm making it my Pick of the Week for SYC on my post Welcome to the World

  36. Hello Bernideen! It is a dreary day indeed here on the Island today but your tea is very charming and reminds me of warmer days to come. I love your whimsy and all your figurines! It just brings a smile. I guess we both were thinking alike this week because I incorporated some whimsy into my post as well. Daffodils would not survive the cold weather we're having right now but soon that will change. Thank you for a lovely party and enjoy your day. Blessings...Sandi

  37. This post just made me smile. Growing up in Puerto Rico I never heard of Beatrix Potter. It was not until the movie came out that I heard of her and then started doing more research only to fall in love with her talent and myriad of beautiful and delightful characters. And what a beautiful collection you have collected. :)
