TIME FOR VIOLETS

About the time the calendar said spring was here,
we got a freeze which really damaged my garden.
The lilacs had started to have buds and leaves and
now those parts are quite brown so this year who
knows....we just take it as it comes.  In the meantime
we will cover the table with violets:

I have loved violets all my life.

Because I have such a fondness for old vintage linens I decided to set my table with an old
1950-60's violet tablecloth, an embroidered
topper, etc.

Someone very sweet must of made that
little violet doily above.  I love it.

I hope your springtime brings some violets!

  1. What a pretty table-scape. The Violets are lovely. I love how you have layered the linens one on top of another. The hand embroidery and the crochet edgings on the table topper and those wonderful hand crocheted doilies; everything works together so well. Add in your pretty china and decor it makes for a perfect Spring display.

  2. The tiny vase with violets and gold handles, it is so very pretty and dainty. It does make a person wonder about the fine crafty people who embroidered and crocheted such lovely items. Happy Easter.

  4. What delightful teapots, teacups and saucers, and doilies too, Bernideen dear, what a gorgeous triumph of violets and embroidery of a bygone age, to come and visit you here always makes my eyes shiny with joy!
Sorry to read that your garden suffered the madness of the weather, here too it was warm in February until mid-March, then the cold came back, alas! We now have wonderful Spring sunny days, but it's quite cold early in the morning and late at night, when temperatures approach freezing, and it's not healthy for us too.
May you Easter be blessed with Peace, Joy and Love
    XO Daniela
