Some time back I found some vintage
"Queensland" upholstery weight fabric
which makes a wonderful table cloth.
If you sew even a little, a table cloth is
really easy to make. Most dining room tables
are about 42" wide and without leaves - 60" long.
You need fabric that is at least 54" wide and
58" is even better. Each leaf generally adds
about 12" to a table length. This table only has
one leaf but if your table has more leaves
that is very helpful.
Often upholstery weight fabrics have a beige edge border which I generally reguard as helpful to turn
under a hem.
I cut strips of fabric for this one
to make
a gentle ruffle to go around.
One of my favorite colors of transferware
is the bright green. There are other greens
too - both teal and dark green are popular
to collect.
