LIGHTING UP CHRISTMAS

This years tree is the tallest one we
have ever had. What was I thinking?

A simple change:   I added some burlap strips cut from fabric tied to my Magnolias which already had gold ribbon.  This change gave a little more country feeling to this years tree.

We experienced a beautiful snow all day yesterday so we closed the shop and went home.  I went home and made a Holiday Totebag from 2 rectangle shaped placemats, other heavy fabric for inner lining strength,  a doily , a Christmas Card,  yarn, an antique button and brass jewelry findings.  I plan to make more - as gifts.

I hope your weekend is restful and full of happy memories!
I so hope to get some baking done!

  3. It's all so pretty and whimsical. Sometimes your photos make your home look like a doll house! I mean that as a compliment. The tea party sounds fun. I should try to figure out something.

  10. Well it is tall but you obviously have the space for it! Also looks like you had a tall enough ladder too!

  11. I love your big tree, Bernideen. I miss the real thing but we have always had an artificial because I like to keep my tree up longer. Good thing is you can buy scent sticks which really help spread that wonderful evergreen scent through the room. Your whole room looks lovely and I love that snowman teapot! Your purse turned out cute too. Thank you for sharing your cozy post at my HOME.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  14. Clarice:
Thank you - I would be happy to stay home every day. I love to cook and bake and sew and garden. Lately I dream of canning and making my own jams, etc. When I retire I will probably have a booth in an antique mall (will live in Columbia, Mo) and do Etsy and a few craft shows. Yesterday, I stayed home as it is bitter cold here and I got 3 more purses made to sell. I love the photos of your home. I want to live in an older house with charm but am concerned about the "loss of a basement" for storage.

  15. Such a lovely tree. I haven't gotten my little one up yet, but will before the grands come. Can't wait until next year to do the house up right; being in a rental for the holidays is hard, XOXO

    1. Hi Susan:
We haven't done the outside as it is bitter cold but hopefully next week. I doubt we have time to put up our Nativity this year as it is a lot of work. Merry Christmas!
