FRIENDS SHARING TEA

I look forward to a fall teatime
by the window today.

It seems we are passing through September so quickly and October will be here soon.

Some of you may have a copy of this book "The Country Diary of An Edwardian Lady" which features sketches and journal entries by Edith Holden.

I have also been enjoying the recipes in the 10th anniversary edition of Susan Branch's cookbook called "Autumn".  If you love comfort food this cookbook is wonderful for featuring Farmhouse Biscuits and Iowa Corn Bread and homemade cranberry sauce - not to mention Gingerbread Cake and Cranberry Apple Crisp.  Are you hungry yet?

Because of such cool nights, we have a  few leaves beginning to turn here.  We haven't had a frost yet and I know that is what really makes the big difference.

  1. Both books are wonderful! I found The Country Diary of An Edwardian Lady recently at an estate sale. It's not easy to find. And Susan Branch's Autumn book is part of a vignette on my kitchen counter with a little pumpkin and a Johnson Bros. "Devonshire" transferware cup and saucer in Fall colors.

  2. I love your Indoor Fall tea, Bernideen. Your owl is so cute! I'll bet you made him, right? The pumpkins look so pretty with your lovely teacup. I must get a copy of Susan Branch's Autumn book. I know I would love the flavors of Fall. Thanks for hosting and enjoy your break.

  3. The setting in front of your window is very cozy, Bernideen. I see we both shared the same coffee pot this week. I love the trellis design with the little birdie. That is a pretty teacup. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  10. Bernideen, I am always excited when I can share at your lovely teatime! Your cup is gorgeous and so is the plate. I found a brown transferware pitcher last week at a thrift. I see your cute owl you made last year. Been feeling very Fall like here, but today and tomorrow are to hit the 90's. Summer is back for two days then back down to normal.
    hugs,
    Jann

  12. Hi Bernideen,

I just love that last teacup - it's beautiful - and that tea time place with the antique table and stained glass - how I would adore sitting there for teatime and a chat with you one day!

Thanks for hosting. We have cooler days and warmer days - def the last of summer here, too. won't be long before those leaves start changing, some of the early ones are already slightly. Hugs.

  14. Hi Bernideen,
I hope you don't mind that I am sharing my daughter's shower. It was so sweet and could easily have translated to a garden tea. So much fun.

    Thank you for hosting! :)

  25. Well, somehow I was late to this tea party, but it was lovely! I especially like the kitty needlepoint pillow and your pretty teacup and saucer. I have the Holden book sans cover (which had such bad foxing I got rid of it for fear it would spread), but don't have Autumn. It's on my wish list, though. Thanks for sharing your pretties! Blessings, Bess
