Today we went for a ride south down to Pueblo, Colorado. We drove by the 37 room mansion built in 1893 which was the home of John A. and Margaret Thatcher. I took a couple photos to share and will let you know they serve Afternoon Tea in the Carriage House for special events several times a year.
The home (museum) was not
open to visitors today.
After noting how lush and green these photos are, I thought I better mention it is 10 degrees warmer in Pueblo than where I live and springtime was definitely advanced here. Last night it even snowed a little during the night where I live!
I just love visiting historic homes! This one is a beauty. Going to tea is already a special experience, but having tea in this type of setting really elevates the experience. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week.

Wow that house looks like out of a story book. Shame you didn't get to go inside. Must be interesting to see what iti is like inside.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it is still snowing in your area. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful spring garden Bernideen.
Hope you have a wonderful week
Good Morning!
ReplyDeleteThis was a lovely surprise to see! As I have been there many times! Christmas is always a special treat! I will be coming up to visit your shop very soon! You have such a blessing to us ladies who love tea and teacups and all things lovely! And we adore a perfect little teapot! Blessings, Roxy
Very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI wish I lived close by so that I could attend the tea, Bernideen! It looks like a lovely spot.
ReplyDeleteOMGOSH! I would LOVE to tour that place. It is always so interesting to see how they lived back then. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi my friend: You were right. My first cup was from England. I did not even know that Lefton was made in England too. I thought they were all from Japan. I have a good collection, I will have to check. Thanks for stopping by. I wish we could have looked inside this home. Looks fun. Have a great week. Hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteLovely buildings. What a nice setting for tea!

ReplyDeleteWow, that lawn is almost as beautiful as the house! (Well, not really, but it is gorgeous!)
