Today I am sharing some old
vintage linens:
Once I started paying attention to all the vintage linens, I was amazed at all the themes there were and the color combinations. Certain colors naturally lend themselves to seasons and there are an abundance of them in the antique malls and flea markets. This old granny afghan had a lot of fall colors I love.
This week we planted some Arborvitae's in the garden. My husband has to get the most credit on this one as his muscle sure came in handy. I would like some more but am waiting for a closeout sale.
Since we retired we seem to go from one project to the next. Our basement was a bit out of control if you know what I mean so hours have been spent there. We are getting the windows in our house replaced soon so that will mean more messes too.
I have recently faced the challenge of finding arthritis and bone spurs in my fingers and especially one very uncooperative finger. I am so happy to report much progress in the swelling and pain and stiffness as I have been in therapy once a week. It has really helped and I am thankful!
Please pour yourself a cup of tea in one of my Johnson Brothers transferware teacups.
I love this fall fruity
pattern called Windsor Ware.
I hope you are enjoying fall

wherever you live!
Autumn has been lovely so far for us. But my goodness, the winds we're having! Ever since all the blizzards we had last winter, we have had unbelievable windy weather. We will be known as the Windy Island like Chicago is known as the 'windy city' if it keeps up much longer! I'm thinking my wreath hanging on the front door is really going to take a beating. I love your transferware! Brown is so nice for this time of year. Your garden looks lovely too. Thanks for hosting and joining me for tea.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Your Windsor Ware tea cup is just gorgeous! I always look forward to joining you for tea each week...thank you for having me! hugs...
ReplyDeleteYour Fall tea in the garden is just so romantic, Bernideen. I'm loving your brown transferware and your lace pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that therapy is helping your arthritis. With all your projects, your fingers are getting a work out!
Thank you for hosting your lovely party, and have a wonderful week.
Love your outdoor setting for your Tea Party! Your tea cup is so very pretty! Thank you for sharing your Blog! Blessings this week, Lynn
ReplyDeleteGlad your therapy is helping you with your hands. Love that Johnson Bros. pattern. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLove the fall setting and tea time.
ReplyDeleteOh we keep taking out arborvitae, so I am smiling that you are adding it. We would give you ours if you were closer.
Since I have had arthritis for a long time I have found a cream that really helps on my hands and feet. Voltaren Gel - I can only get it with a prescription. When I am hurting I use it for about 3 days and have relief for awhile.
Everything is quite lovely, but I am really taken with the brown and white teapot! Most of my favorites are blue and white Willows, but I have one Brown Betty. I have some brown and white plates that were my mother in laws..someday I will find a brown and white teapot too!
ReplyDeleteWish I could join your for tea, I'm swooning over the purple embroidered table topper and napkins!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of arthritis in your fingers but glad therapy is helping.
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Glad to hear that your hand rehab is going well, Bernideen! I'm loving your brown transferware teapot with the peacock! Thanks for hosting and good luck with the house upgrades!
ReplyDeleteYour vintage linens are really lovely. I've been paying more attention to linens recently as they really add so much to a tablescape. I have some vintage tablecloths from Ireland that I'm hesitant to use in fear of stains. I just need to use them otherwise they're going to stay in a closet forever.
ReplyDeleteI really like brown transferware-the perfect fall teaware.
Glad therapy is working for you.
Such a pretty fall setting with all the accessories. I do not see brown transferware teapots often. Love the beaded acorns on the white pumpkin. Vintage linens are the best. I need to spend some hours in my basement.
ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen! Love your fall table. You have so many pretty linens. The brown transferware teapot with the peacock is gorgeous! Thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen...you have been busy! Amazing how projects tuck into retirement space! Love your pretty display...the little beaded acorns are so cute! And a lovely collection of linens! Tumeric has helped by husband's arthritis...it reduces swelling. Have your tried that? Thanks so much for hosting and have a great week!

Just lovely - I am so enchanted with transferware right now - and you setting is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour vintage linens are so pretty. Women (and a very few men) took time to create lovely things with their hands. Your outdoor tea party looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHi: My favorite yard comes to life again. It is always so wonderful to see what you do around your home. I am sorry about your hands. I will pray that they continue to get better. I know so very well what it feels like to live in pain. Have a wonderful week. Much love, Martha
ReplyDeleteEverything about this is just lovely!

ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your arthritis. I am glad that the therapy is helping. Gardening can be so hard on ones hands. I hope that you and hubby can relax a little. You don't have to complete all of your projects right away. You have lots of time now. Your fall Tea in the Garden is just so beautiful today. I love the brown transferware - so perfect for the season and all of your linens. I do hope to have one more tea outside this year too if our weather cooperates. Happy Tea Day and Thank you for hosting. Karen

I could sit in your sofa forever with a nice cup of tea and a good book, lol. Looks great in the surroundings too.

How lovely everything looks! So much to drool over, the linens, the transferware, that gorgeous white tea pot! We are trying to finish up our outside projects we finished to planting, now it's time to cut back the bushes, and hopefully get up more of the new fence before the weather turns. Thanks for hosting. It is always a pleasure to join in.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos sharing such lovely vintage tea scenes for fall. The brown transferware is perfect for this time of year and I love that white pumpkin soup tureen. Pumpkin puree soup, here we come.
