YE DAINTEE LADY TEAPOT for "Tea In The Garden"

For the last few years I have looked and looked for a special teapot.  I had seen these teapots on ebay for huge prices and had researched them with interest.  I have been gone for 11 days on a trip to Virginia because of the passing of my step Father, Roger Ian Buchanan.  His funeral was a wonderful tribute and the Pastor did a lovely service.

Of course, most of the time from this trip was spent driving.  On the way back we saw a sign about an antique mall in downtown South Charleston, West Virginia and we got off the
interstate for about an hour where there were 2 malls side by side. I will tell you I thought West Virginia was so beautiful.
This is what I found at the Mound Antique Mall:

As we headed west, we stopped in Missouri again to see my son and his family overnight and we stayed a few days.  After we left Columbia, Missouri, we passed through Kansas City on the trip homeward and we stopped at the Brass Armadillo.  That is where I found these darling linens in a really sweet booth and also the little girl figurine and the rose cup and saucer.  If anyone collects Beatrix Potter Figurines - there is a whole shelf full there in one of the glass cases at really good prices.
I bought none since I have some and don't need more.

 And now for the garden:
While I was gone, my wild asters began to bloom!
I dug these up years ago out in the Black Forest and I
 they have done well.

This is a darling pillowcase I found which I plan to
use to make a purse with the cloth below it:

I am posting late because I just got home last night.

  2. Hi Bernideen,
I am so sorry for your loss. You must be tired from your trip. You have traveled a long way and it's nice that you were able to spend some time visiting your son and his family. So lovely you found the teapot. It really is sweet and I love the colour of it. Your linens are lovely too and the chintz teacup is simply gorgeous. What a pretty setting there in your garden. I miss having flowers around me. You have a dear spot to set up a tea table and it must bring you great joy whenever you go out there. Thanks for sharing all your pretties and joining me for tea. Rest up, my friend.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  4. Everything is so charming - love love love the teapot - and of course the linens are perfect - and they are my favorite type.

We know that Antique Mall in Charleston, WV - our son and his family live nearby in Kenova, WV. We fly to go visit them so are limited in what we can bring back - though that doesn't always stop us. LOL

Your tea is so beautiful - it would be a pleasure to sit and have tea with you.

  14. I am so sorry to hear about your father's passing, Bernideen. May you know the Lord's comforts as you mourn. I suppose a little teatime does lift the spirit--and a traipse through an antiques mall or two certainly helps. You brought home some lovely treasures. What a great lady pot--and the linens are so pretty. Love the little girl motif. Your little lady is very similar in cast to one I have--she's all yellow with gold trim but exactly the same shape and face. Interesting. I'm sharing about the teacup exchange I'm participating in this month--so excited!
    Joy!
