Today we went for a ride and so I will
share a few photos of several little towns.
This first town which is just west of
Columbia, Missouri is Rocheport

It seems like it has as many bed and breakfast
places as houses from what we could see:

There is a winery and event center for weddings
called Les Bourgeois just before town. It is
quite lovely. This is just part of their vineyards.
Traveling north we went on to Glasgow which
was also an old tiny town of a little over 1000.
We stopped to have dessert at the Rolling Pin Bakery:

Love, love, love your drive around.
ReplyDeleteTotally charming! That is just the kind of day that I enjoy...driving around, looking at lovely homes and hidden gardens and anything that you might have seen at that bakery.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to take a nice long drive through Missouri soon. Meanwhile, I enjoy driving around with you on your trips. :-)
ReplyDeleteFun, fun! Wish I was off so I could go riding around with you and Keith! I did a post on Glasgow a few years ago, you should look it up or I can send you the link. Were any of the antique stores open? Both towns are such charming little towns, love them!
ReplyDeleteSounds great that you had a wonderful trip:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tour♥
ReplyDeleteBernideen, I love your tours of these charming little towns. I think most people don't quite know what to expect of Missouri, and I've had a few surprises since you moved there! Some of my ancestors were born in or lived for a time in Missouri, but I've never been there. Thanks to your tours, I feel as if I have.
ReplyDeleteWhat a truly delightful show of travel pics, Bernideen! I have never really been out west - just to Wyoming but just stayed in Casper.....and many times flying over everything west to get to SoCal.
ReplyDeleteI think there is such charm showing in your pictures. Thank you for sharing!
Hugs. ♥
Great series of photos of your drive in Missouri, thank you for showing us around, for actually I should love to visit all these far away places but I don't think this will ever happen.

ReplyDeleteI use to go to Rocheport a lot back in the 80-90's to visit the wonderful antique shops they use to have.
I also went to Glascow to shops years ago and spent 4th July there once, A friend of mine is from Glascow
The Rolling Pin restaurant is wonderful
Love seeing the Barn Quilts
How fun to get to discover your new home with such great eyes. St.Louis history is so interesting and multi-cultural...love the architecture and the story these places must tell. Thanks for the tour, Sandi
