I apologize for being late today! I had
some ladies over for lunch yesterday and
lost track of time! Time flies.....
So here I am this morning setting up
a little tribute to Beatrix Potter because
this Friday would be her 151st birthday!
I have brought out some of my collection of
books regarding Beatrix to share with you.
Please pour yourself some tea and let me
show you some of them!
We are out on the patio next to the pond
and even the little fish want to join us.
It has been very hot lately and August in
Missouri is always hot - so let's get ready!

so I chose this teapot in honor of her!
The little squirrel was begging. I have
not fed the birds this summer so the
squirrels are not happy as
they come to rob the seeds but
the feeder is empty.
It is time to get back in where it is nice and
cool - we can admire the view from in here!

Hi Bernideen, love your blog today. I adore Beatrix Potter also and the movie Miss Potter. Love all your Beatrix books and love your Sadler brown and pink teapot. Your garden is so lovely and inviting. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteBernideen, your squirrel makes the garden very Beatrix Potter-like! I've never in all my life seen a teapot that is half Brown Betty and half patterned (business on the bottom/party on the top?). My tart today, when cut into 16 slices, works beautifully for hors d'oeuvres or afternoon tea - doesn't even require a fork. Thank you for hosting this beautiful party, but I'm with you - let's go in out of the heat!
ReplyDeleteI just love B. Potter's art! And the movie too. This is a lovely tribute to her. We were in St. Louis recently and the heat was astonishing. We just didn't expect it. But your garden is beautiful. Too much running around for tea for me at the moment. Thanks for your nice remarks on my growing girls and their dress up! I can't wear those skinny outfits either! Haha! But they are so beautiful.
