MY FIRST TIME EVER TO HAVE A "WHERE I CREATE" ROOM

I thought I would share with you my new sewing, craft, decorations and tea time storage room in our walkout basement.  In all these years, this is the first time I ever had such a great place.  It isn't intended to be so much beautiful as it is functional.  I can find whatever I'm looking for now.  I also have a double closet around to the left and a place for the ironing board.

The two old but very sturdy file cabinets hold recipes, craft ideas, etc.  I have lots of shelving to store tea things, sewing stuff, seasonal decorations, linens, etc too!

And a late addition to this post - the view out the window
of the Koi Pond!

This is why we moved to Missouri - my little granddaughter
Lily and the Fairy Garden she made at our house

  1. What a functional ...and lovely creative space you have! Your grand daughter looks to be about the age of mine. We get to keep ours several days and nights a week while our daughter is a flight nurse....what a blessing she is! She is our youngest, we were working when the others were little and we didn't get to keep them as much. You have made so much progress on your new home, I am truly amazed...hugs...

  2. Bernideen this space is PERFECT! When I move/downsize I hope to have a space similar to store not only my tea things, but depression glass and vintage dishes. In no way do I have as much as you, but a substantial amount and want to be able to have it in an area that I can easily access for changing seasons! Love your new home! Your granddaughter is adorable! A very loving reason to move to Missouri! :-)

  16. Bernideen, I can look at all sorts of fabulous, extravagant rooms decorated by famous interior designers and not feel so much as a twinge of envy. But *this* space? I'm soooo envious! Sewing machine (that doesn't have to be drug out of the closet every time) in front of the window, handy work table just behind, all that sensible and convenient shelving. Wonderful!
