MY ROOM WITH A VIEW

I decided that today was the day to get down into the sewing room
and work on some projects.  It is very hot out.  My hubby is staining the deck and other projects.  I'm making some pillows for the living room.  After 3 months of waiting, our living room furniture arrived last Thursday and needs
some "fluffing up".

If you had told me a year ago that I would have
a sewing room with a pond outside the
window I would have not believed you!
I took these pictures through the screen
window.

My old White sewing machine still presses on....
not very fancy but
it works for me.

I thought I'd get a shot of this little guy:

I didn't realize he had a girlfriend too:

This photo reminds me of that scene in
"Miss Potter" :

I was in an exchange once and received
this piece.  Whoever made it was clever!

But alas, it is time to get back to work!

  1. What a lovely view you have while sewing. Your pond is very nice and I see that you have a few friends in there. LOL

I like the pillow fabric and look forward to seeing the couch and pillows.

Have a great rest of the week.

  2. That truly is a beautiful view! I don't think I would get much sewing done as I would always be gazing out of the window. Cute little frog couple you have in your pond.
Glad your living room furniture arrived. It will be so nice to add your pretty pillows to your new pieces.

  3. Would you tell us more about how you didn't know a year ago that you would move? I find it interesting how people make life choices. Your lovely back yard was well worth moving for.

  4. Bernideen, what a lovely sight to see as you sew. That little frog does look like Jeremy Fisher!

  5. What a view you have! I would think it would give you lots of incentive as it's so lovely.
Your link is not working. I hit your blog on my sidebar to get it. If you get a minute, I hope you can stop by and fix it so others can stop by. Thanks for joining me this week. I'm still tuckered out from all the excitement we've had here and of course there is tons of laundry to do too yet. Hope your Summer is going well.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  11. LOL, I had three frogs in our pond under the kitchen window yesterday. What on earth they are eating is beyond me as we keep mosquito disks in there to keep the bugs from hatching.

I would be sewing 24/7 if I had that view, gorgeous and the pillows look like they will be fun! Thanks for sharing, Sandi

  12. Oh Bernideen, the frog photo is adorable but I didn't see the other frog at first and thought you meant that the goldfish is the girlfriend!! lol Mermaid, no frogmaid, I don't know what they might create!
Love your view, and the fact that you are a seamstress! Hmmm...what can I bring over? just kidding!

  13. I love your vintage sewing machine. Last year I bought a 1948 Singer Featherweight from a friend. I love it! I named her Betty Lou after my deceased Aunt that loved to sew. I wish I could pack up Betty Lou and go visit her. It would be a hoot sewing side by side with her.
