The garden is almost deplete of flowers this
week. I pulled up the zinnias and cosmos and
many other annuals. I could have enjoyed
them yet for a few weeks but somehow
that work would still be looming.
It seemed like a lovely day to take a
break and enjoy a cup of tea after
making one last bouquet.
No matter where you live - summers are
always different. We didn't have enough
rain in Missouri. I felt sorry for the
farmers who needed rain for their corn.
Even last evening I still saw some
hummingbirds zipping about.
Last year they were all gone by
this time.
You see some of the remaining flowers
from
my garden by looking at this bouquet.
I have enjoyed this bittersweet teaset
now for quite a few years....
When a new month starts I love to
see the artwork for that month
done by Edith
Holden:
Please pour yourself a cup
of Cinnamon Spice tea.
This summer we got accustomed to
being hot so now that the weather
is a little cooler - we know, we will
be colder this winter.
Your bittersweet tea set is such a perfect one to use and enjoy for Fall, Bernideen. You always set up the prettiest tea in the garden at your outdoor table, and sharing your lovely bouquets. I'm still in love with your lace-trimmed table topper! The ribbon with the jeweled acorns is such a pretty adornment for your teapot. Love that tea tray, too, and your lace pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteI so love the colors of your bittersweet set...but then I'm a Fall girl at heart. I know it has been a crazy year...! Lovely linens and setting, Bernideen. I did some canning this week, not terribly lovely---but handy during the busy holidays.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Bernideen! You have gathered some lovely flowers from the remnants of your garden. I love how you have dressed your table and of course the bittersweet pieces are so pretty. I still have a few pansies and that's it. Pumpkins and mums are taking the place of petunias and pansies in the bird bath and pots. It has cooled off considerably here and we've had the stove going for a while now. We still turn it off at night but that too will soon change as it's getting colder. Enjoy your lovely flowers and Happy October!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tea set! Tables with lots of lace are my favorite! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall!
Your last bouquet of the season is lovely. And that teaset is so perfect for this time of year. Enjoy the cooler weather - it hasn't gotten here yet.
ReplyDeleteOh my!Wonderful vignettes!Your floral bouquet is just adorable...Love your gorgeous china and pretty linens too.Your garden is stunning as ever!Hugs!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Bernideen!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love that book, but especially the bittersweet teaware. And the "last" bouquet is quite beautiful too. I just picked what could be my "last" bouquet from the garden too. Wondering how much longer I will have flowers in the garden before I must start buying them at the market.
ReplyDeleteWonderful bittersweet tea. I love fall, and it has been a dry is hard summer for us. The trees are turning and we still have hummingbirds too. The book illustrations are always a joy, aren’t they? Your garden looks just perfect to me!

Bernideen, what a perfect autumn tea setting. The Bittersweet teaware is gorgeous, and "making one last bouquet" and getting that work out of the way now is certainly bittersweet. I love my visits to your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou always create a lovely tea time. I am in shock that you tidied your garden so soon. Here we cling, literally cling, to our posies and try to baby them along as best we can for as long as possible. And, yes, that does mean clean-up happens when it is pretty chilly. You are still learning the ins and outs of Missouri living. It probably can be quite changeable.
