MIXING AND MATCHING THE TABLE FOR TEA

We are so happy to have summer finally here - to be able to open windows and smell the garden scents blowing in the breeze.  I don't want to take a lovely green lawn for granted.

pink teapot might be my all time favorite.

 This morning I decided to set the

 dining room table with random 

this and that.

I have often commented on this blog about my love for mixing and matching things. I didn't have time this morning to get out the silverware.  You will have to use your imagination. We all have one of those.  I love old linens and old things.  I have no idea why.

Like most of us - I have things from China but of course prefer English bone china and really prefer vintage pieces.

One of these days, I am going to get my courage up and start painting some of my antique furniture!  Actually, that would be

my husband who I would be asking to do

just that.

Part of the problem is simple - when you were the one that stripped an old piece and did all that labor - you never forget the work it was - it is easier to tackle something and change it that you haven't already worked on!

Late note:  looking back at this post, I have sold so many of these cups and saucers

and plates.  I still have the pink teapot

that I love.

TEA IN THE GARDEN

We have waited for spring and summer so long - I want to savor every day and enjoy! 

 Things are finally lush and green and flowers will be bursting forth. I decided to set up a little tea table on my patio....I have many old linens and often use old crochet bedspreads for tablecloths....it is early in the garden as the sun comes up from the east.....come pour yourself a cup of tea!

If it gets hot - help yourself to the fan....and make yourself at home!

My chives are blooming as part of a small herb garden on each side of the patio.

Sunday afternoon I really lost it - I joined the masses enjoying an absolutely fabulous weather day buying flowers at Home Depot.  The crowds were huge and the flowers lovely, the sun was shining and it was a time to buy - buy - buy.  It's finally spring.

  But on the way home after Home Depot, I heard the weather forecast for Wednesday was going to be "Cold Front Coming In With Snow".  So I thought - oh boy, I don't want to put this stuff in the ground - where do we take it?

EASTER SUNDAY

We attended Easter Services in Broomfield, Colorado at the Shepherd of Love Church.....a celebration of our Lord's Resurrection!

PANSY TIME

What's not to love about pansies? And Springtime is when they excel and burst forth with color!  Here in Colorado they bloom all summer because of our cool nights.  I love them and so do you! 

 Soon we will be able to have tea in our gardens and friends over. It is such fun...invite some friends over and serve a few tea treats.  Everyone loves it!

I have always been drawn to pansy doilies and hankies.  I really don't know a thing about crocheting but think it is so pretty. I set up a little pansy themed display this morning on a side table.

There  is a  large collection of dessert plates that are displayed on the walls of our home....

I am especially drawn to mixing and matching things.  I get bored quickly with same-same.
