I thought you would be as happy as I am to see that she has been featured recently in the magazine "Romantic Country". These photos are taken early in the morning today in my kitchen.
I took a few photos myself of the article and why not have a cup of tea at the same time and enjoy seeing the Boathouse her husband and son built which she decorates as she moves through the seasons.
I haven't traveled like many of you but if I did - Prince Edward Island would be on the top of my list - along with England of course! I am sure the Anne of Green Gables series and the books by L. M. Montgomery have stirred a great interest in the beautiful island.
This magazine was one of the few that didn't come through to my new address but I quickly got one at the grocery store. There are so many details and places to contact when you move!
This week we got together with one of my former customers who came to my Colorado shop over the years. We had her over for lunch as she lives here in Missouri and she brought us these lovely roses. Her name is Mary Sandy and she is a "young" 88 years old and travels the world and enjoys life. She was very excited to see my tea room and I look forward to serving her Afternoon Tea there!
We all look forward to seeing Carolyn's upcoming garden. Spring comes late to PEI but when it does it is full of color and longevity at the Aiken home!
Hi Bernideen...Carolyn's work is amazing, isn't it? I love her photos! I just had the bad news as I am an advertising, that Romantic Country has just ended...the publisher has closed. A favorite publication! So sad! I agree PEI was always on my travel list, but I never made it. Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for hosting. I had a Linky glitch for Tuesday Cuppa Tea, but it's fixed now... :)

Hi Bernideen! I missed you yesterday at church! :) Beautiful post on Carolyn's magazine feature. Your beautiful treasures fit right in with what is shown on the pages of the magazine! PEI is a place I would love to visit as well, I have always been a fan of Anne of Green Gables and Road to Avonlea.

Just like you she is an inspiration for me. I am not sure whether I should link up today or Friday with my Tea in the Garden. Thank you for hosting B.T.T.C.G. Blessings, Karen
Bernideen, I almost feel guilty for linking my muddy mess of a pond project on your beautiful page. DIYs can be messy though. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I love Carolyn's home and everything beautiful that she does. A visit to her blog is incredibly inspiring.
About your tea party, is iced tea allowed?
I think your home should be in the publication, Bernideen! I love your pretty table and the side table that's decoated with pieces of broken China...sigh!! How nice to meet a blogging friend and how inspiring that she loves to travel! PEI would be a wonderful destination.

Lovely party, as always, Bernideen! Thanks so much for hosting. I hesitated to share my post but was encouraged when I read that "this party today is very widespread and about just about anything"! So I've linked. You are such a gracious hostess!
ReplyDeleteHi Bernideen. I have always enjoyed Carolyn's posts since I started blogging. I picked up the magazine a little while ago and enjoyed the articles. Your tea room is looking wonderful. It looks like you are open for business (or soon anyway. What fun..Thank you so much for hosting the party. It is always so much fun to join up..Happy Week to you..Judy
ReplyDeleteOh dear Bernideen, thank you for your kind comment, you made me happy as I thought maybe a 5 de Mayo tablescape was not fit for the tea party, but I feel so happy to be joining the fun. I love you and the party! Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm sure a new neighborhood is new in so many ways that you have to discover on a daily vase. Your tea room is looking gorgeous, I envy you, a tea room!
Have a wonderful week.

Oh, I forgot to comment and I must say I love, love her beautiful blog and she sure deserves to be featured in such a prestigious magazine.

Good Afternoon Bernideen, Carolyn has such beautiful style.... as do you. I follow Carolyn's blog, but the magazine you mentioned is not available here in England, which is a shame as with all the wonderful photographs I think I would feel truly inspired.
ReplyDeleteMary reminds me of my mother Phyllis who will be 86 years this year.... she loves travelling as well. She travelled to America with us, for the first time, when she was 80 years and she loved her visit.
Have a wonderful week.
Best wishes
Daphne
Bernadeen, thanks for dropping by my blog and inviting me to your H&G party. Love seeing all the posts on this subject, so inspiring.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn's style is wonderful and I can't get enough of her gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you talked about visiting Prince Edward Island. My daughter-in-law is an avid reader. Anne of Green Gables was her favorite series as a child and she convinced her father to take her there on a vacation. Living in California, that was quite a distance to go.
Thanks for sharing with SYC.
