Saturday I had a High Tea for a
group of 9 ladies. This was like
a supper with a pot of tea. This
would not be the darling Afternoon
Tea finger foods but rather
hardy food the working class
would have normally been served
at the end of the day.
I took this photo of one of the
2 tables, the night before:
Of course, my High Tea was
more elaborate than bread,
cold ham, pickles and cheese but
you get the idea.
This was the 3rd time I had these
ladies this year but our earlier teas
were Afternoon Teas. Learning the
difference by actually eating the foods
really was a lesson.
Looks like a lovely High Tea. The menu sounds delicious, and the ladies look very happy to be there! Your table is so pretty. Thank you for sharing this and the menu with us. You are an inspiration!! Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful idea to have High Tea for your group of ladies. We've always hosted Afternoon Tea in past years for friends but never High Tea. The menu sounds delicious, especially the scones. What a special way to enjoy fellowship during this Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Everything looks so elegant and pretty. I am sure your guests had a wonderful time. This is very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful holiday time to have your friends in for an
ReplyDeleteexperience of high tea. Supper time to us commoners, lol.
Such a lovely get together with your friends, the food looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI love your tablecloth, one of my favorite patterns.
