SEEING A FRIEND AT ANOTHER TEA ROOM

Yesterday we went back to Greenwood, Missouri

to take a "relook" at 2 items we had seen

there - but unfortunately,  the 2 shops were closed.

  The one shop called "As Time Goes By Greenwood"

was where earlier I had found this cute patio

 tea cart for our deck.  I also had gotten a

bird house there that I will show you later.

They had a sign on the door that they were closed

due to their air conditioning going out.  Since

it was in the 90's, I hardly blame them for closing early.

The other shop was also closed in Greenwood

......so we went on down

the road looking for another adventure.

In Lee's Summit, Missouri we came upon Henry's Tea Room.

It was after lunchtime and since we didn't even know we

were going there - we were happy they invited us in for a lovely lunch of delicious salads and tea and dessert.

I never expected to see someone I knew there but as we

walked past one of the rooms I saw Midge Davis from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I knew her because she worked with her sister, the late Jan Simpich at Simpich Character Dolls in Old Colorado City.  Midge was with a group of high school friends

having a reunion in one of the rooms.  

Please remember I wasn't properly dressed for tea as we

 were just out relaxing and antiquing and the tea room

just popped up in the journey. 

 It was a delight to see Midge.

room was in the basement:

A BOUQUET, ACROSS STITCH and a Tea Room

Hello dear blogging friends! 
 I have to tell you what my husband said last night.
  He said "it feels a lot cooler out now.
The sun has gone down and it is just 90 degrees"
I looked at him like "really"? 
 Yes, the heat is definitely here in Missouri!

I went down into the basement tea room yesterday and made up a little bouquet.   I wanted to show you the fun sign I found in Greenwood, Missouri where we took our friends last week.
 The sign was $10.00 - would you cross stitch this for $10.00?

MY FRIEND VISITING for my 100th "Tea In The Garden"

We have company this week as our long term 
friends stopped by on their way to visit 
family and friends because June 18th
 will be their 50th wedding anniversary.
  My husband was actually in their wedding.

Some of you might remember when I did
 a photo shoot back in 2014
with Lou Ann in my Colorado garden.

My garden is up and running here but not filled in 
which takes time.  This is a brand new garden 
and not seasoned.

I have had fun finding gardening elements
 at the various flea markets and antique malls. 

This week we are taking a break from our work at home.

  Well, this weekend it will hit 90 degrees so I would
 say summer is arriving now. 
 This is why I have been so focused on getting things
 done outside.  I have been here over the years in June
and I remember the high 90's and 100 % humidity
 and we are certainly not used to that!

SHUTTERS IN THE MASTER BEDROOM

After looking around for something different to go over the bed in the master bedroom, I recently found a shutter decoration for the wall and added some more shabby chic
 chalk paint to it
for a more rustic look:

As you can see - it was nighttime out when I took these pictures last night.  We got home late from dinner with our son and suddenly I remembered this party.  Our master bedroom is a modest size. I do wish you could see it in the daytime - there is a peach tree outside the window with peaches overlooking the Koi pond.

 There was teal in the bedspread so I have 

put some of that color in the room too.

I have had the teal matted Godey print for years but recently got the oval one below a booth at Midway and the other small square one at an Estate Sale here in Columbia:

Here in Missouri there are ceiling fans

 in almost every room because it gets hot!

I was able to catch a quick view out the
 window early this morning too:
