TRYING A SCONE MIX

This is such a busy time of year as we begin preparations for the upcoming Holidays:  Thanksgiving and then Christmas.  Like many of you,  I have pulled my Thanksgiving Cookbooks and also my Christmas ones!  Tea provides a nice break to pursue them here in the kitchen!

We are enjoying the cooler weather
we have been having. The change of four seasons is always nice.

I usually make all my scones from scratch but for fun this morning,  I tried an Orange Cranberry Stonewall Kitchen Scone Mix from the Gourmet Pantry at my store.  I was pleased with the results!

  1. Dear Bernideen,
it is indeed a busy time in the year. Nevertheless you made a wonderful tea break with pretty china and freshly baked scones. All looks very comfortable and inviting. How nice to sit with tea and to discuss what to cook and bake for the Holidays. Thank you for sharing this tea time and for hosting this sweet event.
    Best greetings,
    Johanna

  11. Your transferware is so pretty, the peacock was outstanding. One day they may add smell-a-vision wish I could smell the aroma from your meal.

  16. This is also my time of the year where I feel I am in between two wonderful & magical times. Time to give thanks seems to need to extend to the Christmas season and where one begins and the other leaves off is often confusing. ( but a happy confusion ! )

Scones sound mighty good right now and the peacock plate is stunning.

Thank-you Bernideen for hosting this time for bloggers to celebrate tea-time and all things related.

  20. Well now, how fun to see a brown peacock instead of a brown turkey on plates at this time of year!

  22. Hi my tea time friend. What a lovely teapot! I like your dishes too, yes, I am a total dishes nut.
I like to use scone mixes and have had good luck with most. I don't seem to do as well with my scratch scones. Keep warm.
    Best wishes, Linda
