WASHINGTON AND HERMANN, MISSOURI

My husband has recently spent a lot of time working on
our house and/or coordinating the work being done.
He said that he was definitely ready for a break
in the routine  and wanted to go visit a vintage
model train museum he had been told about in Washington,
Missouri so  Friday we drove about 1 hour 45 minutes
to see it and I started taking photos of a few
 unique houses that we passed:

The gingerbread on this house in Washington is quite lovely!
I noticed many of the old homes
had lovely hydrangeas such as below:

More hydrangeas:

I liked this cute brick cottage too:

And on the way home we stopped by Hermann, Missouri where the Missouri River also passes by and the Amtrak Train stops.  The
town has many vineyards and wine shops and reflects it's German
heritage with restaurants and shops.

  2. What impressive, attractive homes. The first must be blessed with large, square rooms, that I love so well and have never had. =D

  5. I adore gingerbread on a house! My father was very much into that sort of thing, good architecture, and he passed on many of his loves to his daughter. Trains included. Daddy had a big train set and so I just naturally developed a love for trains too. Not only that but the train station was in front of the old family homestead where he grew up and both he and his brother, and father all worked for CNR. Later Daddy became an accountant but he never lost his fascination for trains. Lovely photos and a lovely outing for you both. I must say that you and Missouri are getting along splendidly! Thanks for sharing with us.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
