VALENTINE CHEER

Yesterday I worked in the kitchen on a little
Valentine display in the armoire.  It was fun to
get out the Sadler Valentine teapot I found in Colorado last year right before we moved to Missouri.

The fireplace mantle also got decorated.

It has been overcast, cold and dreary and
less I forget damp
which I knew would be the norm
 in Missouri in the winter.

It was snowing too but melted
before it hit the ground.

I figured Valentine decorations would really brighten up the day!  Do you decorate for Valentines Day?

  2. Good morning, Bernideen! Your home looks so pretty all decorated in Valentine pretties. Yes, I decorate for Valentine's Day, too, and do it this week. Changing out for different holidays keeps us going, doesn't it? Your Sadler teapot is sure a beauty, my friend, and I love your lace trimmed mantle and the heart garland. Thanks for hosting, Bernideen, and happy weekend!

  4. Yes, I decorate for Valentine's Day and you just inspired me to go get started! I like what you did in your armoire and on the mantel. The glass heart garland is adorable, looks old! And of course I like the Sayre gal on there. Your Valentine teapots are great too! Is Keith getting in the "romantic mood" over there at the cottage?! lol
    Have fun!

  5. Your armoire certainly looks a treat decorated with all your pretty china and the mantle certainly brightens those dark and dreary days of yours. The Sadler teapot is pretty and the heart-filled teapot is a lot of fun. We don't decorate for Valentine's Day down here, though flowers and chocolate are always a wonderful idea.

  7. Hi Bernideen
I decorate a Valentine tree to enjoy before we go south and pack lots of VD stuff for the house we rent in Florida. My heart teacup is put into service for afternoon tea and I have plates and napkins purchased on sale after the event last year. (always thinking ahead)
You certainly have made your home festive with all the hearts!
Sorry to read your winter is like ours with the cold - and dampness - which is what chills a person to the bone most days.

  8. I don't decorate for Valentine's too much, but a touch here and there. I'll have to get to that here soon!

  10. Your St. Valentine's decor is lovely, Bernideen! I can't believe how many heart china items you've collected! You inspired me to quit being so lazy and to get out my decor too soon.

In the meantime it's still wintery around here, but frankly, now the snow is gone (not for good, I've known snow in April) I am losing my mood.

Thanks for the lovely inspiration. I ♥ you can just fill up that huge armoire shelving unit so perfectly for each seaon - what a neat way to go about seasonal changes. Such fun! : - )

  11. Hi Bernideen,
Your Valentine's Day decor is just beautiful! I do love that pink shelf that you change regularly. Where do you store all of your pretties? I am running out of room and must stop buying. I am sorry that I am late to link up again but we are doing renovations at the cottage and changing our flooring. I was packing up my teacups and teapots from 5 cabinets. So much work. How did you ever move? Have a Wonderful Weekend! Karen

  19. Your armoire looks delightful, I love all those "heart" items. And your Sadler teapot is beautiful. I will set my dining room table with red/white (using some new-to-me red transferware!) for Valentine's Day and put a garland on my mantel, that's about all the decorating I do.

  20. Bernideen you have a great collection of Valentines. I love that onion bulb shaped teapot! This week I baked. Thanks again for the teacup! It is gorgeous and I can't wait to put it in my camera lens. Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!

  21. What a lovely display of Valentine cheer! I just love the little white teapot with the girl and the boy as a handle. Too cute! I think it's a good idea to think of ways to pretty up the place when it's so gloomy outside, and pink decorations are always wonderful in my book! xo Deborah

  22. OK I missed last weeks party (this one) so I was thinking I was early - so I posted - and now I realize that you haven't set up this weeks party yet so I may post it again.

I am one confused gal these days, sorry. Thanks for the party lol for both times I share the tea party I attended. Doh.
