Just a few photos of my white
Queen Anne's Lace
which reminds me of white doilies:
As I look out my kitchen window and see
these, I am truly in my happy place.
Peter Rabbit loves hiding
right amidst it all.
They remind me of snowflakes
because each one is different.
Very pretty they are... I wonder if they have it here in San Francisco. I have never seen it.. Happy Thursday with love Janice
ReplyDeleteThe are not indigenous here - I planted the seeds from Missouri and it took several years to get them going - they are biennials that bloom the second year and reseed. If you wanted seed I could send you some but would need an address and send them in the fall!
DeleteYour garden is really wonderful. White flowers are always my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThey really are indigenous but I planted seeds several years back!
DeleteBerindeen, the Queen Ann's Lace is so delicate. I like to see it growing in a garden and also like to add it to a bouquet of flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah! Have a great week!
DeleteWhat a lovely way to think about it...little floating doiles. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Queen Anne's Lace, but it doesn't hold up in a vase of cut flowers. Oh how I wish it did. I love to be able to pick my flowers and bring them inside. Maybe I need to plant some just to enjoy in the garden. Your QALace is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen Ann lace is lovely and delicate! They are so sweet and look so dainty in a floral arrangement. I love it in your garden too, dear Bernideen! Big hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
I've always enjoyed Queen Anne Lace. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteDon't you see any signs of the first year tiny plant??? From the seeds...
DeleteYour Queen Anne's Lace is very pretty. That isn't the same as the wild that grows here, is it? Nancy
ReplyDeleteYes - in the carrot family really a wildflower "weed". I love it!
DeleteThese grow wild everywhere in our area (NW WA) - they will come into your garden too - and it is wonderful when it happens - makes a nice meadow effect.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
I have a painting of Queen Anne's Lace that my mother painted...it's one of my most cherish possessions. I agree, they are truly doilies in the garden, XOXO
ReplyDeleteThis was a good year for QAL growing in the fields, they've flourished well with all our rain. The seeds from the pink plant I found last year have germinated and I'll be excited next year to see if the flowers will be pink again.
ReplyDeleteThis dainty plant is perfect for your BP garden where you like to photograph tea vignettes. The heads do look like crocheted doilies, don't they!
Judith
I agree! The Queen Anne's Lace is so pretty! Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia
What a charming way to describe Queen Ann's lace ~ it is fitting and just perfect and who can't love "Dolies in the Garden" ~ Judi
ReplyDeleteYour Queen Anne's Lace is beautiful. And your blog has a charming, Victorian feel to it. It's beautiful! I just joined to receive your posts and look forward to them!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I miss having Queen Ann's Lace. It is such a pretty addition to a bouquet.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend!
~Liz
I love Queen Anne's Lace, too. Right now ours is at the seed stage and sticking to my clothes when I try to weed around them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit!
Good Saturday Morning! For some reason I don't understand I follow your blog (and have for a long time), but am not having it come through on the new post lists. That means I have to be thinking and go to my bookmarks and catch up. I do enjoy seeing your pretty garden with all the Queen Anne's Lace and other flowers. Next spring will be a good time for me to plant some seeds as I will have more time to do the really early garden preparation. Also, your Tea in the Garden post with the new cup and saucer and the lovely linens was beautiful! Hope to take a short road trip this fall and get down your way. The mornings are beginning to seem like fall is near! Have a blessed weekend.♥♫
ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn:
DeleteI'm guessing you need to change the blog address in your favorites. During the early part of the year - several of us were pirated and I changed my address to a .com address!
http://blog.bernideens.com/
This is what you should change it too!
Good to hear from you!
I love to see the Queen Ann's Lace in the fields here. They are often accompanied by pink clover, Rose Campion and thistle for a lovely random and wild arrangement. I love the thought of the flowers as doilies!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is beautiful, Bernideen. The Queen Anne's lace is lovely!
ReplyDeleteSo lovely. Used to see fields of it back in Pennsylvania, however none in South Carolina.
