HAPPY NEW YEAR AND TREASURES

A few years ago I noticed other bloggers collecting old vintage alarm clocks to use as mantle and buffet display pieces for New Year's decorations.

I picked up one here and one there mostly
drawn to ones with lesser prices.  I saw
some along the way that I loved but were
ridiculously priced so I passed them by.

So, since last year I have added
a few more and here's how they look to the right
and left side of my mantle this year:

I am also sharing some teatime treasures I found this week while out with some friends.  We found out about an antique/gift shop that was closing in Lexington, Missouri so we took a trip there.  On the way we passed through Higginsville, Missouri and I found the pansy cup and saucer below left
at a small antique mall for just $5.00.
It is Royal Staffordshire and I have seen
pictures of handles like this but this is my first.

The other two to the right above are Royal
 Albert's that I got for $8.00 each
at an antique mall in an old bank building
in Lexington.  I wondered if this was
one of the banks that Jesse James robbed
and since I'm telling prices today - the lovely glass compote was just $11.00.
I imagine scones piled high in it.

My Snowlady loves everything!

I want to thank everyone who participates in my blog party each week.  It doesn't bother me that I only get a few participants.  I really enjoy
the tea focus.  I wish you all a Happy New Year!

  2. Bernideen, love your clock collection! And I especially like the pansy cup and saucer. I've never seen a teacup handle like that. I posted my cookies that were inspired by your wonderful orange slice candy cookies.

  3. I love the vintage clock display. I may have to borrow that idea for next year...

I'm also smitten with your new pansy teacup and its unique handle! Such a great deal. One of my new year's resolutions is to stop buying teawares so I'll have to live vicariously through my fellow bloggers.

Thank you for hosting your weekly tea parties. I actually prefer the smaller parties because I can actually visit all the participants. Happy New Year, Bernideen!

  5. What a cute post with all the cute little clocks Bernideen! I had a lot of fun with you and Janice! You ladies make me laugh, so cute! Your purchases look great in your home, I can tell Snowlady likes them! The cup with the purple violets is my favorite I believe. It will be perfect for an early Spring tea.

Your vintage clock collection is lovely. After seeing old clocks on blogspots I also wanted one - I have only one Baby Ben (because my dad used to have one) but yours look so collectible. Today I also shared a collection. Your new to you teacups are treasures! Have a Wonderful 2017! Thank you for hosting Friends Sharing Tea. Blessings, Karen

  10. Bernideen, your teacups are lovely and you have a wonderful clock collection. It must be so much fun to live in a place where there are any number of antique shops and tea rooms.
Happy New Year, my dear friend, and may 2017 bring you and your loved ones good health and many blessings!

    Hugs,

  11. Bernideen- your tea wares are a steal! WOW! You really looted the joint, haha.

I am SO SORRY I haven't been blogging - I think about it all day every day and just can't seem to be able to do it. One of my hopes for 2017 is more regular blogging about tea things - my favorite pastime.

As I sit all ready for our fancy dinner tonight sipping Harney & Sons "Paris" tea - one of my all-time favs, as you well know, I think back on the year and wish you all things tealightful. Hugs.

  12. Such a lovely display - the teacups are beautiful and I love the great prices you paid for them! So much fun to shop vintage and find a good deal. I hope to be back participating in the blogroll very soon. My blog is focused on birdlife in my yard right now! So glad to see your cuckoo clock also. I recently went to Germany, Switzerland and Austria and we visited a Cuckoo shop where they make them. I saw some absolutely beautiful - and very elaborate ones! I should do a post about them using my pictures - and dedicate them to you Bernideen! Cheers!
