Last Friday my new friend, Gina Broadus and I
went over to Boonville,
Missouri and
drove around to see some
awesome and huge
Victorian homes.
This smaller cottage style home
was my favorite:
There were many mansions in the area. In 2015 this town was
voted by the Smithsonian as one of the top
20 Best Small Towns to visit in America. I
understand it is the furtherest town west of the
Mississippi where
a civil war battle was fought.
There are many old worn down
plantations in the area.
I also loved this old home:
Not as old, but I also love English Tudor style homes:
We had a fun day in Boonville - hope you enjoyed!
I will be sharing at these other blog parties:
Welcome to my blog party below:
Good morning Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteI love that yellow cottage style home in the first picture. I could move right in there! You and Gina had a lovely outing. I enjoy looking at older homes too. Historic homes are the best and I wonder who lived there and I imagine all kinds of celebrations taking place like birthdays and Christmas. Thanks for sharing and linking. Enjoy your day, my dear friend.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi Bernideen. How perfect for you and Gina! They are lovely! Because that area of the country is older, I have always loved all the wonderful architectural gems that are in such short supply here on the "young" West Coast! Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteRuth
Beautiful home and the first one is my favorite since it reminds me of mind!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! I love these old homes. We live not far from a neighborhood of these kinds of homes, and I love walking past them. My favorite might be the one in your second picture. Lace curtains, wood floors, antiques, vintage china -- just beautiful! Reminds me so much of my beloved grandparents' home. Glad you and Gina had a good day. xo Deborah
ReplyDeleteLook at those gorgeous homes! I believe the yellow one is my favorite too. Thank you for sharing the beauty with us.
ReplyDeleteI am happily following along with you~~
Hi Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go out with Gina. The heritage homes are absolutely gorgeous! It sounds like you have adjusted well to your new neighbourhood and are enjoying it there. I always worry that I will miss my familiar area and I admire you for undertaking such a big move. Thank you for hosting B.T.T.C.G. Party.

ReplyDeleteDear Bernideen,
ReplyDeleteits a fantastic area where you found the houses. They are all so very pretty. Would love to see them inside, too. Thank you for taking us on tour. I saw your invitation for Friday and I am very exited about the theme. Thank you for hosting such special events.
Best greetings, Johanna
I love all the old houses. Thanks for stopping to share them with us.
ReplyDeleteBernideen, you have moved to the most gorgeous part of the country. You and Gina are so lucky to have all those beautiful homes to visit. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon or a week for that matter. Thanks for hosting and it is good to be back..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteBoonville appears to be a very historic town with charming houses. I like the yellow house. I could sit on that porch for hours. It appears that you are having fun exploring your new area.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a nummy cross section of Victorians. And so lovingly maintained. We once owned a three-story brownstone Victorian with a turret. My mother dubbed it the 'Adams Family' house in northern Wisconsin. Sadly, we had to leave it, and the broken pipes, dying oil furnace and pigeon eaten roof when we moved to Chicago. Thanks for the memories of all those windows...to clean. Sandi
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful houses. I always like to look inside and out.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful road trip.

This is a lovely home tour. I hope you were able to drive by Roslyn Heights, our Missouri DAR headquarters and is also located in Bonnville. They are open for scheduled tours at Christmastime and each room is decorated with a tree. You and your friend might enjoy seeing it then.
ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing us to all these beautiful homes, Bernideen. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and I'm sure our Vintage Charm party attendees did as well--thanks for linking up!
